Obama came back with excellent counters, and I hope he continues it. In spades. As others have noted this is not going away, unless it proves too painful for the GOP to continue. Otherwise it will be repeated adnauseum at the least to rally their base (no amount of reality will disuade the base for the need to "win" in Iraq) and maybe, just maybe put doubts in the minds of some independents. It's a tricky path being the "new and non-devisive" in Washington while at the same time needing to bloody the GOP, I mean not just defend himself well, but politically bloody them, so that it becomes to their advantage to work with Democrats instead of continually pooping on them.
God, I feel Like I just made the argument for war in order to make peace. The world is a weird place.

Also weird like when otherwise rational people jump all over someone based on a Drudge report. Why in the world does anyone give any weight to anything on the Drudge site. The Drudge site is a sewer and if you start hanging around in a sewer (as the MSM is too often wont to do), guess what you start smelling like. So how about attacking Drudge next time instead of using a Drudge report as a political oppportunity to attack someone. Drudge has got to go, he is a malignanacy.
Why is Drudge driving our political discourse? Why can't all politicians come out and say Drudge is an a-hole with a brain the size of a walnut that deserves as much attention as a hyena eating rancid meat.
Maybe that might drive down his stock in the media - or at least one can HOPE that such a CHANGE is possible.
"Nader was the one who told us back in 2000 that there was no difference between Bush and Gore. Now, everyone who voted for him...raise your hand if you still agree with him...I thought so.-- dkmoorhead
Yes, would love to see all those Nader hands especially with Nader stating the last 7 years of complete disaster making it EZ for a Democratic candidate to win, he tacitly admits that a Democratic president would have had a completely different outcome.
Focusing on the number of votes Nader received is a red herring. You have to be brain dead to forget how many votes actually decided Florida. Furthermore, Nader stating that if Democrats cannot win by a landslide they do not deserve to win indicates stupidity on a grand scale. In sports and politics, a win is a win, whether by 100 points or 1.
Saying all that, I would like more candidates involved in a general election. Unfortunately not a good idea, third party candidates hurt the candidates they most closely align with.
As a side note, seatbelts, airbags and Nader an interesting history for those who might be interested.
The point is not what odious, sleazy, unethical, possible illegal things Rove did to undermine an innocent man, The point is he did all of that with a flag pin on his lapel. That’s what counts. Ask anyone in the GOP.

Ultimately, is Mr. Obama’s reaction – on the order of “I DO SO worship U.S. General Jesus and His Flag!” - much less confirmatory of prospects for real change than the original smear? JC Miller
It bothers me that people can even get away with using the Muslim religion as a slur against someone. It bothers me just as much that Obama feeds into this by responding with “But wait! I AM A JESUS GUY TOO!!!” Ugh, he should read some of John Kennedys responses when he was being “smeared” because he was a Catholic. A proper response should include reaffirming this nations commitment to freedom of religion. Not a nation of, if you’re not a Jesus guy you are a second class citizen, or worse an enemy of the state.

The issue with Nader is not how many votes he gets in total, but can he get enough votes in select areas to make a difference in the final electoral vote counts.
Our election process short-circuits when a relatively low vote getting third party candidate, whether Perot, Nader, or Huckabee if he goes independent, shows up. The third party candidate never siphons votes away evenly from the other two candidates, but instead negatively impacts the candidates that their views are closest to.
In the GOP “America at Risk” Video when the “Breaking News: House republicans walk out….” headline came up, I thought the headline could have more accurately reflected the video if it stated:
“Breaking News: House republicans walk out and stand around."
Further voice over could have speculated that maybe they thought they were supposed to catch a bus and then became confused when no such bus was forthcoming.
If taxation without representation is tyranny, what is surveillance without representation?
Freedom?
McCain is a politician.
Politician is spelled p h o n y.
So the question is silly. A better question is how far in bed is he with lobbyists? How would you measure this against other politician/lobbyist relationships? Is there evidence of quid pro quo in his dealings with lobbyists?
But if you want to continue with silly questions, I've always wanted to know what group contributes to a greater percentage of the Washington DC population - lobbyists or prostitutes?
...words are important, well... except when they're not.
I don't know whats worse, the apologists for Shuster like hutman, or Shusters half-assed apologies.

Hey Shuster-haters,
I assume you are just as angry at Bill O'Reilly and Fox over O'Reilly's truly heinous remark regarding Michelle Obama. --Anonymous @ 10:11 PM
I assume Anonymous@10:11 should lighten up on the dumb-ass pills.
Since Taxation without representation is tyranny, then surveillance without representation must be... freedom.
