Some Gut Reactions
[Read the article: The U.S. military inflicts more damage on its own credibility]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Straw straw everywhere
The pentagon/administration gets caught in a lie AGAIN. And suddenly anyone that calls them out hates Bush, hates the troops, is undermining America, doesn't like apple pie, and is an Alan Colmes fan.
Denial denial goes well with alcohol
Are you going to deny that such a speedboat put a hole in USS Cole? Yes you stupid fuk, one was Iranian military in radio contact with our navy in international waters, the other a private vessal in port.
"These speedboats had no reason to be that close to our warships." We of course have all the reason in the world to be so close to their waters. Like if Iran had a few warships skirting international waters right outside of our eastern ports, that would be fine. We wouldn't mind at all.
Assertions assertions all the rage
"you'd be incredibly stupid to ride a motorcycle in a threatening manner at high speed directly at a police officer and then run rings around his cruiser (in a neighborhood where other police had been brutally killed)"
Threatening manner is your assertion, and is clearly not in evidence. And WTF are you talking about - what military has been killed in the international waters where this occurred? Assertions do not well support conclusions.
Let's all get get together
Sure the political leadership lies to your face and doesn't give a shit if you know it, but why can't all us Americans just get along...(neocon bats his eyelashess)
Politely put - Inadequate facility to discriminate between ass and elbow
"the simple fact is that if any of those boats had been armed with a modern ant-ship missile we could have lost a ship or two and they [Iran] would have lost only a couple of speedboats in exchange." Oh sure - starting a war with the greatest, biggest, most destructive military force in the history of the world comes free of charge to the Iranians.

Food Challeneged to boot
[Read the article: McCain spokesman John King of CNN]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Also - how odd that you would cite the large audiences of network news shows to prove some point. Aren't those all "liberal"? -- GlennGreenwald
Fell off of my chair laughing at that one.
@PW = Monty Python And The Holy Grail- The Black Knight.
Fell off my chair laughing again. Ok so at times I am easily amused.
Ok we get it. You PW enjoys the press being stupid, or maybe just do not care if the press is a bunch of morons as long as they make a buck. Whatever, I don't know, your points shift like the wind. What is clear is that in principle you do not care, so understand clearly that most on this board, like the founding founders, DO FUKKIN CARE, in principle about the behaviour of the press.
"Why yes, the food (McDonalds) is very good. And inexpensive. And convenient. Why wouldn't it be popular? Heh. -- shooter242"
The food is cheap for "restaurant" food because it is cheap in quality. It is convenient and thats it. Go out buy some lean hamburger meat, cook it, compare the fukkin cardboard patty you get from Macs with the hamburger you cooked yourself. (Compare the cost too for laughs) Then if you can't tell the difference don't expect the rest of the world to be as food challeneged as you and by extension as politically reality challenged as you.

Words are interesting
[Read the article: "We're all fascists now"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"classical fascism was masculine and violently oppressive and today's liberalism is feminine and not oppressive but smothering with kindness."
I can see the similarities between the words oppression and smothering (even if idiot boy can't), but the adjectives of violence and kindness don't jive. Can't help but wonder if he felt his Mom was smothering and he feels guilty for the extreme kindness required from her in order to promote his career knowing his obvious intellectual failings. So he ties the two together. Volia, Jonah explained. So poor smothered Jonah, break away, break away, simply break away from your kind smothering facist mother and be free. Become a liberal.
Now if anyone thinks this is an ad-hominem attack. It probably is. However it begs the question, is attacking one who uses adhominem attacks as defined below in definition #1 (just look at the book cover) justified in using definition #2?
ad ho·mi·nem
1. appealing to one's prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one's intellect or reason.
2. attacking an opponent's character rather than answering his argument.

New Acronym - UMV - Useless Manufactured Vitriol
[Read the article: The Clinton-Obama contest gets rougher]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The manufactired vitriol over MLK and Hillary is unexplainable excpet as a symptom of UMV. People who can actually believe that Hillary stated MLK was not the catalyst leading to the Civil Rights act are terminally insane, or just plain dishonest. And do people really think Reagan would have signed the act, or the dunderhead in chief currently in the White house would have?
The Iraq ammendment was a sound ammendment if we had a sound president in the White House instead of a puerile idiot. It gave an enormous amount of leverage to a president to get concessions from Sadam, such as the inspectors on the ground. I fault everyone who signed that ammendement, not for signing a bad ammendment, but for not recognizing the sitting president for what he was - a complete and arrogant fool, bent on war. For me, that Obama does not frame his opinion on the Iraq vote in this light is a demerit for him. That Hillary has not communicated her fault in not properly evaluating Bushes intentions before signing the bill is a demerit for her.
When I read Bills remarks I never in a second thought Bill was referring to black person running for president as being fairy tale. I immediately took it as a description of a politician spinning his record for political advantage. More UMV.
Obama supporters I hope do recognize that Obama is a politicion? Right?
