Liberals can only sink so low
[Read the article: A fair question]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The problem with liberals using "sinking to the level of vapid debate so embraced by the right wing" approach is that to do so requires a suspension of ethics, honesty, and common sense.
Republicans will try to sell you miracle water to cure all your physical and emotional ailments while promising money will spout out of your butt. They can do this by making themselves believe every goddamn stupid foolish thing they say is true and just.
Democrats cannot convince themselves that bullshit is true, Republicans can. And thats why Democrats suck at that approach. It's a catch-22. The citizens have to get smarter to see past the vapid bullshit, but they won't since the miracle water sold by the Republicans and entertainment based news media makes it easy for them not to.

Ad hominem on Steroids
[Read the article: A bizarre, unsolicited e-mail from Gen. Petraeus' spokesman ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Holy Smokes I haven't seen this many insults and smears per word count since an RNC press release.
Eith Col. Boylan emailed GG whilst intoxicated or has to be horribly dense to not realize
he is a makin' GGs point.

Wow - not so much
[Read the article: A bizarre, unsolicited e-mail from Gen. Petraeus' spokesman ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Wow, I laud your readers for having the patience and resolve to indulge your verbose tirades. Day after day, I note that your column receives among the most comments. Your readers deserve a medal. You might want to throw them a bone and get to your point in the first paragraph. Assuming you have a point."
Thanks for checking in, keeping track, and complementing GG readers. Which might be a bit self-indulgent since you seem to be a regular, if somewhat partial-reader. I know reading more than one paragraph at a time is "hard work". Which is probably how in the name of all that is holy, the "point" about the military colluding with conservative media was missed.
So keep checking in, try a little more reading and enjoy the comprehension level going up at least a bit.

There ya go...
[Read the article: Which Republican candidate is más macho?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...again bebop-o. Kicking my ass again and reminding me of really what's up and whats down.

Is Slanty-head unbiased as well?
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Snow used to sub as a host for slanty-head Sean Hannitys radio show. Probably will go back to that if it pays enough.
Enuff said.

Great health plan too!
[Read the article: The cream always rises]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]For sure, that Philbin has a great health plan, uh but not socialised you understand, just really great and for life. Not to mention the retirement plan, uh that's not socialised or nothing either. And the low expectations often bordering on no expectations for Philbin, uh no that's not a socialised anything. Ok well maybe that is all socialized something, but it's only for congress and other kinds of state workers. You can't have socialised anything for anybody but state workers.
It's the unwritten rule. Come on be real, be a true American, work your ass off, live in financial insecurity, so you can support socialised services for the privilidged, the few, the workers of the state.
Me, I'd prefer to get the same God-damned benefits they do.

Thinking does not cause baldness
[Read the article: Do as I say, not as I do]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]According to Rudy, who would want to know what a presidential candidates diplomatic foreign policy approach might be, when all that counts is whether a candidate will bomb the fukkers or not.
Whatever caused Rudy to go bald, it wasn't thinking.

Yes...
[Read the article: Abject stupidity defined]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...They are being incredibly stupid to the point of being stupifying. But I think the issue is that they like acting stupid and are slavishly devoted to their ignorance as well.
But at the risk of speculating, I wonder if the most significant factor is that they are all spawns of Satan. (alright already I know this is also a stupid thing to say, but still probably closer to the truth than what they have been hurling at Glenn.)

[Read the article: Hitlers, Hitlers and more Hitlers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What a dumb ass. If we are going that far down the road, who's to say if Iran were to use the bomb they didn't bomb your half, which of course would mean your half probably would not be cheering, but chin up the other half will still certainly be astonished.

[Read the article: Hitlers, Hitlers and more Hitlers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So the latest right wing propaganda has Americans not forgetting that Iran took Americans hostage in 1979, and are still so awesomely pissed 28 years later that they want America to unilaterally invade/bomb yet another sovereign state.
I am starting to be afraid these folks can reach such high levels of stupidity that they actually become transcendent. They transcend the earthly plane on the wings of ignorance and stupidity to land in the glowing frothy forests of ... I have no idea, some really fukked up place.
Moreover, I am still trying to understand what threat Iran would pose with a bomb. If they ever actually used the bomb, oops, where Iran used to be suddenly becomes a charred radioactive hole. The only purpose the A-bomb would have for Iran is defensive as in if they had one now, they would not have to worry as much about a-holes like Bush unilaterally bombing or invading their country.

28 years - Revenge better late then never
[Read the article: Hitlers, Hitlers and more Hitlers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]CarolynC
I was aware of how we hurt the Iranians in the Iran/Iraq war, but my historical record stopped there. Thanks for another significant event in the history of that region and yes history and context is important, although apparently not to everyone.
What I was trying to not so cleverly express was that most Americans have forgotten and do not care about something that happened 28 years ago. But if I follow your train of thought, the goal really is to remind Americans of the event in order to fire up the anger mojo again.
Unfortunately the same people who would have such a goal, prefer the history leading up to the hostage crisis remain a lacuna (sorry Condi, couldn't resist) in the American view of middle east history.
