  • Tiny Newt

[Read the article: If only Newt Gingrich were president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Well if Newt was really big, he would advocate threatening and bombing and invading RUSSIA. They are aiding and abetting Iran aren't they? Yep and Yahoo! got a have a big one to bomb Russia. Yeah Newt lets get down - Nucleur war all around.

  • The Logan Act of 1799

[Read the article: The American media's fringe ideological view of Pelosi's trip]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

JimC acts like a proud homophobe and thinks freedom means

editing or deleting portions of a comment that run counter to his values. Also feels fine with arrogantly expressing Judea/Christian beliefs to justify his positions.

Most of what JimC has expressed run counter to my values but am glad Salon has not edited or deleted his comments. Go figure.

In terms of the Logan Act, might want to look at a superceding document, the Constitution and what powers it grants. For example it declares Congress is the only entity authorized to declare war but somehow by sheer ignorant audacity I am supposed to believe the Logan Act overrides this and makes Congressional involvment in foreign affairs illegal?

  • Not Racists, Liberators

[Read the article: The right-wing brain in action]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So let me summarize to see if I understand.

When Liberals oppose bombing people of weaker nations, they're racists, but when right wingers promote bombing people of weaker nations, they're not racists. They're liberators. I guess. Ok. Whatever.

Let's see, dying by getting a few limbs blown off and bleeding out or choking on chlorine gas, hmmm let me see I don't know a tough choice. How would reynolds choose to die? It's pretty clear the current definition of WMD is any weapon a non-coalition force uses. Any weapon a coalition force uses is by definition not WMD.

Don't hear compassionate conservatism anymore where'd that go?

  • My Rock Collection

[Read the article: Real inconvenient truths]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What I got of Camilles articles was, "Did I mention that I wrote a book called Sexual Personae?". I guess she's trying to squeeze out a few more sales there.

And global warming sketics: "Not all scientists agree on Global Warming and therefore there is not a consensus, except when a great majority of scientists agree and then it's dogma. What intellectual dexterity, we can now have dogma without consensus. Haruumph.

Finally did I mention I had a rock collection when I was a kid and my science teacher liked it?

  • It's part of the cycle

[Read the article: Michelle Malkin plays the victim card]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Well when a Malkin idea is vacuous and her world view unsubstantiated and she's lost the debate she starts making up stuff up to support her position, and when that stops working she starts making stuff up to smear individuals, and when that stops working, she complains about being a victim.

Then when those three steps stop working she changes the subject and starts at the making stuff up step.

Malkin is successful with this crap cycle because there is a large group where their "gut" tells them how the world is, they make choices based on fantasies that match their gut, rather than make gut decisions based on facts. This, come to think of it, is also a definition that fits Camille P.

  • Retro

[Read the article: Response from ABC News re: the Saddam-anthrax reports]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Glenn a blogger confronts "real" journalists with facts. Journalists and facts, how... how... I guess retro or how... I don’t know… quaint a notion is that. Glenn must be from a bygone era when media was not exclusively dedicated to the competitive entertainment dollar.

Glenn is much better off writing an inflammatory book where he just makes stuff up and then goes on the Imus show to sell it. Well maybe a little late on the book selling opportunity on Imus bit.

  • Was/Is Bob Dylan a hippie?

[Read the article: The dark legacy of Carlos Castaneda]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

For all of you who have figured it All out, were here when time began so should know, and are now the knowers of who the fools may or may not be:

"Everyones got to serve some one" - Bob Dylan

    Who's your master?

  • CYA

[Read the article: Iraq: American public opinion vs. a "small but powerful group"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The point of the surge was to allow the Iraqi government time to regroup and lead Iraq back to health in some coherent manner. However, the Iraqi government is weaker now then before the surge. The bombing in the green zone, Sadr ministers (important to Al-Maliki) resigning from the government, all demonstrates the Iraqi government cracking, becoming weaker. From a strategic point of view the surge is a disaster. (How many disasters is a President allowed anyways?)

There are some tactical gains where parts of Bagdad are relatively safer (the operative term relatively), while in areas around Baghdad the violence has increased. These small tactical gains the WH will spin that the surge is working and maybe if we are lucky we will see Cheney in a heavily armed and fortified ice cream truck festooned like a porcupine with heavy caliber machine guns, driving through downtown Baghdad, little ice cream bell tinkling, to prove it. However when it becomes undeniable, even to the Baghdad Bobs in the WH and the beltway, that not only has the surge failed, but Iraq itself is failing, they'll blame the liberals in Congress for undermining the surge. It is incredibly insipid and arrogant, but smarts, integrity and being accountable is not a neo-con strong suit. They are good at CYA propaganda though.

  • The rich and fatuous

[Read the article: Profiles in Journalism]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why would a "journalist" ever want to do something other than be a stenographer or even better just make stuff up as Drudge does. In this day and age you are paid very well for pressing the journalism EZ button. What in the world is Charlie thinking. He is not even going to be invited to Beltway dinners of the rich and fatuous.
