We Are Closer To Indian Culture Than We Know
[Read the article: Sex ed suppressed in India]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Pre-historians will tell you that Indian culture comes from the same four-millenia-plus-ago Indo-European ancestors who brought us western European culture. Those Indo-European ever-so-great granddads gave us all a prudish/sexist outlook, and that outlook persists.
We ourselves understand this aspect of Indian culture, intuitively, in our bones, because we grew up with the same outlook. So do not asume you are dealing with something alienly south Asian when you find out about these things.
They are just exactly like what we grew up with. My Irish Grandma and my Dutch Grandpa were much nicer than these Indian prudes, but, in their hearts, they felt much the same.

Lorena didn't keep it...
[Read the article: Vitter: "I believe I received forgiveness from God"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...She tossed it out the window. And a passerby found it, and returned it to John Wayne B.
Senator Vitter is in big trouble. Run, Senator! And then eat shit and die. As somebody said before, we all need forgiveness, but you need to resign before your forgiveness takes effect.
Maybe some wise random passerby will find your good parts, and help you to get them back. But that probably is years in the future. Now, you need to resign. Then hide. Then do something good.

Flash O' Inspiraton! Expanation For Fundamentalist Hypocrites!
[Read the article: Vitter: "I believe I received forgiveness from God"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]All of a sudden, it hits me:
Guys such as Vitter never did anything much when they were 14 years old through 20 years old (late junior high through late college). Because they were not cool at all. So they learned nothing.
So they do not get in trouble until they get into the US Senate. And then, they have no experience, so that they do not know how to deal with it.
Vitter, you twit! You should have learned about whores and such long ago, and you should been past that part of growing up. The Lord is MUCH more complicated and much more subtle than you assumed, you arrogant dink!
Now you know.

Clinton Did Not Claim To Be Moral...
[Read the article: Why David Vitter matters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Clinton never said nuthin about sexual morality. He did not make an issue of sexual morality.
He got caught, just as Senator Vitter got caught, but Clinton did not have all the hypocrite baggage. Still, they impeached him.
Senator Vitter must suffer his slings and arrows.

I'm attracted to a dozen a day, but I do not screw them...
[Read the article: I have the hots for my stepson]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Find somebody else to fool around with. And (Advise Follows), try to find somebody more discreet than any 17-year-old, so that he is less likely to tell on you, and get you in trouble.
Cary gives great advice, but he goes on too long sometimes.
So, I repeat: Find somebody else. And then screw your brains out. But this kid is poison.
It is vain and silly of you to write as if your husband's son, somehow, is the only man for you. Baloney! You can be attracted to many, many others. Pick the others. Give me a shot, maybe, but do not screw this particular kid.

Bravo! Gary Kamiya For President!
[Read the article: Leave the Muslim world alone]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gary, you are doing a great job of stating the real case, and keeping it down to two pages. Future historinas will cite Gary Kamiya.
How can we get our mothers and brothers to pay attention to Gary Kamiya?

I'm Pretty Sure Geo.W.Bush Had This Advice Before He Invaded
[Read the article: Leave the Muslim world alone]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And he blew it off. He and his supporters continue to behave as if this sort of wisdom is pointy-headed Liberal stuff. We need to wait until they die, I guess. Can't find a way to convince them.

Life In Iraq Now Officially Worse Under Bush Than Under Saddam
[Read the article: An al-Qaida safe haven? Really?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yesterday, the United Nations announced that Iraqi children are worse off now than they were under the worst periods Saddam Hussein's regime. Iraq's situation is somewhat like Eastern Europe's situation in the 20th century. The Nazis came in. But when the Nazis finally left, the Communists took over, and life did not get better. Now, finally, over fifty years later, things have improved.
When the U.S. Army leaves, probably Iraq will begin to settle down. Realistically, life in Iraq cannot get much worse than it is now. G.W. Bush probably is the worst president Iraq ever has had. He has relegated Saddam to second place.

G.W. Bush has been extremely cagey about his religion...
[Read the article: David Brooks' field trip to the White House]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]He only makes general statements, such as this Good vs. Evil thing. And he uses religious right code phrases, such as, "Personal Lord and Saviour." But he does not link his behavior to specific beliefs.
For example, spreading democracy is NOT part of the Bible. Why does he tell us that this is part of his religion? He never explains.
G.W. Bush may be part of the fundamentalist group that believes the end is near. He may see his conquests as part of the prelude to Armaggedon. Has he ever said so? I do not believe he has.
I do not believe Cheney, Rummie, Wolfowitz, and the rest of Bush's people are apocolyptic fundamentalists. They have much more influence on W. than religion. G.W. Bush just talks religion, in a very general way, when it suits him to do so. His real motivations are more mysterious even than his religion.

Perspective On W.'s Religion
[Read the article: David Brooks' field trip to the White House]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Far-out christianist fundamentalists criticize G.W. Bush for not being Christian enough. Some of them say he is not even Christian. You can see good examples at cuttingedge.org. Take a look at this piece: PRESIDENT BUSH SHOULD BE EXPELLED FROM HIS CHURCH! Guest editorial by Dr. Donald Boys.
From the other side, our side, W. gets criticism as well. David Kuo's blog is worth reading, specifically his 6-5-2007 post.
I found both of these by gogling "bush's pastor".

"Homeland" Still Grates On My Ears
[Read the article: Hyping the intelligence again?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I still cringe whenever these guys call the United States of America, "The Homeland." The Third Reich-ishness of that expression never goes away

How Do You Say, "Moe! Larry! Chesse! Whoop-whoop-whoop-whoop!" in a Southern Accent?
[Read the article: Three Stooges strategery]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am sick of hearing these Southern guys saying all this neo-brutal stuff in their dopey Southern accents and Texas accents.
Do you hear how the christianist radio hosts always call on American Muslims to come out and denounce islamist terror? Well, I call upon American Southerners and Texans to come out and denounce their Confederate senators and representatives!
John Edwards, you are okay. So was Molly Ivins, so are some of you others. But, come on! Southerners and cowboys, please speak up!
