Atia And Servillia Rock!

Do not let Heather's criticism that "it's hard to tell Atia and Servillia apart" keep you from looking at Rome on Sunday night!

First, you CAN tell them apart: Atia is the one with the big boobs, and Servilla has smallish boobs.

Second: That is one of the main points of Rome's Season I! Atia the slut and Servillia the noblewoman were revealed, episode by episode, to be more and more alike. And now they can fight it out as the bloodthirsty political stage mothers they both are.

Please take a look at Rome. Just seeing Atia by moonlight and Servillia by altarlight is an all-time great TV experience.

Bush Prefers Abstract

The sound of, "the long view," and, "the judgment of History" appeal to W. Bush. He can repeat these cliches for the rest of his life, and never have to admit his imcompetence, failure, evil, and so on.

He always can say that "the long view" just needs a little while longer.

We Cannot Fault Him For Crying

Weeping is a proper response. His tears are the only human thing we ever have seen coming from George W. Bush.

Answer On Greek Leftists

ktwdawg - It probably was "local Greek leftists" who rocketed the US embassy in Athens. Greeks and people who know about Greece believe this.

They are angry about everything the US does in the Middle East. But they are Greek, not Iranian.

Sneaky End Of Days

Adding to what Marcus said, the crazy christianists believe that "False Teachers" will proliferate just before the end of the world. From what I can see, the christianist kooks themselves are the False Teachers.

Could we have a situation where the Anti-Christ does not realize that he is the Anti-Christ? And do the forces of Satan actually believe they are doing God's work?

We do not like to believe that these dopuses actually have real power, but Bush begins to convince us otherwise. Maybe they are right after all, but maybe THEY will be the poor victims left behind. And maybe most of us will be spared.

And maybe Santa Claus will bring me a pony. Help!

We Need A Troop Surge In Washington D.C!

Grammar Troopers

Arlene, you are right about "troops." In 2007, everybody says "U.S. Troops" when they mean "U.S. Soldiers," but nobody ever uses "Troop" to mean one soldier.

We should be saying soldiers or marines or military personnel, rather than troops.

A Trooper can be an individual, but this word really only means a cavalry soldier or a state policeman/woman.

This Guy, Probably Just A Distraction

When W. Bush and Cheney want to do something nowadays, they just go ahead and do it, e.g. all their torture, domestic spying, surging, and so on. They no longer seek support or justification. Usually, they no longer even tell us about it.

While we listen to this fool, and spend time and energy refuting him, what are they doing? They have a free hand for two more years. They have no shame.

We need to start congressional hearings. Outside of Congress, we need to bring lawsuits and indictments. We need to make contact with military people and recently-retired military people to slow down our military's responses, if these guys order invasions and nukes.

It's sort of a FEITH-based plan

(That's all.)

It's Necessary To Keep Records...

Why did W. and Cheney and Tio Torture not do this from the start? That is the scary part. Either there is a strange, terrible backstory here, or the idiots are even more abysmally stupid than we ever have imagined.

The only benefit of going to the court is that their activities will be on record. It's all secret now, I guess, but if we need it in the future, we can get it.

Will we ever see their records from the past six years? Maybe not. Will we ever need those records? I hope not!

Moby Dick Cheney!

The White Killer Whale! What a great nickname! Has anybody ever thought of this before? I am going to start calling our VP Moby Dick. You may too, if you wish. I hereby grant rights.

Perspective on McCain

1. We should not try to portray every single Republican presidential hopeful as crazy. W.Bush really might be dangerously crazy. Nobody can figure him out. Let's just call McCain, "Extremely Annoying," and move on to his odious positions on Iraq.

2. McCain could have backed the Baker Report, and broken with Bush a few weeks ago. That would have made him very electable. Now he is a Republican version of Senator Clinton: He has strong support, but too many people hate him.

3. Finally, please do not fault McCain too much on his Vietnam experience. That was a different time. Stressing Vietnam would put us into the right-wing "Support Our Troops" trap. We have plenty of other things to use against Senator McCain.

3 1/2. McCain did not learn Vietnam's lessons, because he was locked up in Hanoi for most of the war. Americans who spent that time on the loose, both in the U.S. and in Vietnam, understand better than McCain why we should not be in Iraq.

Chelsea Is Very Attractive...

She will be 27 years old next month, so it's okay to say that she looks pretty sexy. What do McCain's kids look like? McCain looks terrible.

Still A Good Idea To Mention This

If nobody mentioned this first-two-black-coaches thing, many Americans (including me) would not have noticed. And that is great! We have progressed from the days (mid-1970s?) when I was so surprised to see black quarterbacks on southern college teams.

Now I am reverse-surprised. It seems odd that no black coaches ever have been to the Super Bowl before. We need this reminder that we are only part-way to the prize.

As Curtis Mayfield and Rosie Grier said, keep on pushin'!

The REAL Injustice!

We have progressed in American racial relations, but keep in mind that no woman ever have been an NFL coach! Not even an assistant coach! Neither has any little kid!

Sexism and Ageism permeate the fabric of our society! To the barricades!

P.S. Wes MUST be kidding.
