They are not "Conservatives"

They are American Dopuses. They like torture and dungeons. Their president G.W. Bush just spent two terms getting nearly everything wrong.

There is no rational way to deal with them. Just deal one-on-one, in personal situations, with practical issues.

Here is the "good" news: The family members are silly and comically wrong, but they have no actual power. G.W. Bush and company had power and caused many tragedies and deaths, but your relatives are just annoying, comical whackos and blowhards.

Anecdote from Detroit

On Saturday, I took my dog out the back door of our apartment building. One of my neighbors was moving out of that back door. She got a nifty house in a nifty suburb for $75,000.

This is the first time I have met somebody who is cashing in on the house-price thing. (I have read about out-of-state investors, but this is a real human who got a good deal on a nice place to live.)

My bride and I will move from Detroit soon, maybe to St. Louis, maybe somewhere else. We are not burdened with a house to sell, but I will consider buying after we move. I will look into it. And, I am looking into putting 25% of our IRA into stocks.

I can't help thinking we may have reached bottom. Bare bottom? Wouldn't it be great if the wek before last turns out to be the bottom?!

Specific info, rather than political generalities

Cary is correct.

However, these preposterous Republicans are flat-out wrong. If you must get along with them, for example, if your mom lives among them and you live far away, just smile and change the subject.

Otherwise, though, stick your face in their faces and assert the truth. Do not let them get away with their nastiness.

They have extremely silly delusions. For example, my own brother put a letter onto the internet. In this letter, he admitted he had voted for W. Bush twice, and Reagan twice, and Dole et al. But he expected us to think he was cute, because now he thinks Obama is cute.

These people do not have a clue. After they have destroyed the world, they still want us to laugh, and to live with them, ratherthan prosecuting them.

Original article: I'm planning my suicide

Do you have lots of life insurance?

If so, maybe your death money will help somebody, but Yikes! Please read my other posts, and do not kill yourself. Imagine how embarrassed you will be in twenty years if you kill yourself.

Imagine what people who knew you will say about you. Imagine how little they will care if you are dead, versus how much they will love you if you are alive.

Original article: I'm planning my suicide

If you have not killed yourself yet, here's more

1. Have you noticed that the posters who use paragraphs seem a lot smarter, more entertaining, and less pro-suicide than the people who write in long, dense, annoying, hard-to-read, never-ending clusters?

2. Every prudent, rational person has planned his or her suicide. Your planning is just the mark of a thinking person. I myself have ideas, but I will not do then because no cause so far has been equal to me. I am better than the idiot who fired me. (for example)

3. Please laugh. Does this forum not prove that humans are preposterous? No human problem, including your problem, is worth dying about. Just move to a humble apartment and take some community college classes and get by. Have small fun. Please relax and smile.

Cheers! Love!

Baby Boomers coming back?

Poster Lesliet wrote something smart. Even if companies are valuable, stock prices will not go up if nobody wants to buy their stock.

What's the alternative, though? Baby Boomers already have been burned by the Dot Com collapse and by this Depression. They feel poor. No bonds pay good interest rates now, and current bonds will lose value when interest rates go up.

Actually, I believe the best investment now would be to start a new bank with zero toxic assets. But I cannot do it. Only a paltry IRA to invest.

I predict Baby Boomers will hold their noses and buy stocks again, fairly soon, because they have no simple alternatives. I myself may do it.

Hoist on my own petard

If you look at my too-many posts last night, you will see that I criticize the previuos poster. However, it appears Alex removed that previous poster.

So, it looks as if I were criticizing myself. Hee-hee-hee! I post too much. At least I provided some info here. Carry on. Thanks for reading.

Original article: Forgetting to think

Lecturing my bride on drinking too much,

Trying to get her to admit that she had too much Chardonay, last night, I tripped over my own slippers, collapsed onto a nifty little side table, broke the table, and spilled my own glass of Chardonay. Scared the Beagle.

It was only box-wine. And my dignity is only box-dignity, I guess.

We seem to be headed for a new Civil War, based on myths, accents, and grammar

Please look at that idiotic post previous. Who is that person who believes him or herself oh-so-clever? What is the basis for this type of nastiness?

What if this poster were stuck in a dungeon based on suspicion alone? What if no trial for five or six years? Sit down, jerk. Be glad that some Americans want laws and justice.

Do not take credit (yet)

When it goes down, he would have to take the blame. Wait. If it goes up for a year, then take credit, even if he does not deserve credit.
