  • Karen, I'm afraid I'm going to have to...

...start calling you Hindenburg, because all your talking points go down in flames.

If you believe that MI and FL should not be seated until after we have a nominee, then do you think this should go to the convention? Because as I said, nobody will get enough pledged delegates by the last primary.

Say what? Obama only needs 61 more delegates. There's 86 pledged delegates remaining, and of course there are the superdelegates, of which 210 remain. He's going to have 2025 very, very soon.

And I am supporting her because I think she is the most qualified candidate. In the debates, nobody else had as deep a grasp on the issues as she did. Her opponent is very good at stating the problem, but he's short on solutions. And I want Universal Healthcare, something her opponent is unwilling to deliver.

She's also shown repeated, critical failures of judgment (AUMF, Kyl-Lieberman, taking the nomination for granted). If she does take the nomination, she's done her best to hand the election to McCain by making experience and national security prominent issues in her campaign. William "the bloddy" Kristol has complimented her on running a great right wing campaign. She's race baited. She's played the gender card. She's insulted every state and demographic that hasn't voted for her. She's willing to split the party and lose the election to McCain on a 5% or less chance of winning the nomination.

The stakes are too high in this election to turn the country over to somebody with so little experience.

Obama's record of public service is at least as long as Hillary's, and he's been an elected official longer than she has. And if she's so much more experienced and capable than Obama, why didn't she "close the deal" on Super Tuesday the way she expected to, when it was tailor made for her?

I hope Hillary goes all the way and takes it to the convention.

Then I hope you're prepared for another $2 trillion to be added to our national debt and another 2,000 dead Americans in Iraq. Because having a floor fight and/or a late, divided Democratic primary did wonders for Presidents Humphrey, McGovern, Kennedy and Mondale, as opposed to the landslide defeats suffered by Nixon and Reagan in 68, 72, 80 & 84.

You think Hillary supporters are mad? When Obama hasn't hit her back remotely as hard as she as hit him? How do you think Obama's supporters will feel if the party bosses take the nomination from the clear leader in the race and hand it to the clear runner up? They're going to be just as angry, only this time it will be a rational anger, as opposed to Clintonball. The longer Hillary prolongs this, the more she splits the party, the greater the chances are that McCain will walk away with this to continue Bush's failed policies and appointed justices that will overturn Roe v. Wade.

If Hillary and her supporters end up handing the election to McCain, I hope they start stocking up on wire coat hangers. Yes, that's crude, and yes, I went there. Because it's time that Hillary and her supporters really took a hard look at what they are risking here.

  • Hindenburg22 jumps the shark

If the DNC committee doesn't want to seat the MI and FL delegates, then let them tell Hillary and her supportters NO. Let THEM take responsibility for their decision to disenfranchise millions of voters, and let everybody watch Obama go along with it.

So they'd be telling it to themselves? You've got a severe allergy to facts, Hindenburg22, and the facts are that Hillary supporters were instrumental in stripping those states of their delegates.

And if you really wanted fairness, you would really be insisting that only new elections would do. Because hundreds of thousands of Democrats stayed home because they were told by the media, by their government, by Hillary supporters and Hillary herself that the elections would not count.

Hindenburg22, this isn't about fairness and you know it. It's about giving Hillary a free leg up when she doesn't deserve it. It's Clintonball.

  • still waiting for Title IX to bring us Men's Studies classes

If Title IX can be used to force universities to offer equal enrollments on sports teams with respect to gender, they should have Men's Studies programs to mirror Women's Studies.

  • Oh no! You mean there's an area left where girls haven't surpassed boys? Sexism!!!

[Read the article: The education gender gap]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Girls dominate in any subject that isn't math or science. They graduate high school in higher numbers. Many colleges are approaching a 60/40 split in female/male enrollment. Boys are seven times as likely to kill themselves as girls.

But no, the real crisis is that girls haven't also passed boys in math and science. Girls just aren't empowered enough! Call your reps so something can be done!!!

  • stop blaming this on Republicans

    texasmountaineer:

The DNC is clear proof of what is wrong with the Democrats. Florida was a victim of the Republican political machine.

The first person to propose moving the primary? A Florida Democrat. Moving up the primary was backed by the state party chair and Democratic leaders in the state legislature. The measure passed 37-2 in the state senate and 118-0-2 in the state house. Blaming Republicans for this is simply a lie.

And it's only worse in Michigan, since half of that state legislature is controlled by Democrats as is the governorship.
