Nothing I've done all week made me feel better than reading this comic today
[Read the article: The K Chronicles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]After reading the Salon headlines and wires, after perusing the various crimes of our government, after thinking deeply first thing in the morning about what can be done about our modern situation, after thinking about all the grownup decisions that need to be made today in order to better our lives and the future...I came to today's K Chronicles. I was struck in the face by its genius.
The only possible ending for that 'toon was the final panel. Magnificent. Feed that inner child, baby, no matter what the grownup says. That little girl/boy's got a severe sweet tooth, and when you keep her waiting, it just makes it harder to behave like an adult a little later on.
You're the best, Keef. Don't ever stop!

You have done it again...
[Read the article: The K Chronicles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Damn, Keef, this one is simply amazing. I am one speechless white dude.
I can't understand how you can plunge the dart into the bulls-eye 'toon after 'toon. Right dead center. Shot through the heart.
Absolutely amazing. Truly inspiring. As insightful as it gets, brother. Don't EVER stop doing what you do, PLEASE...?
Later, Daddy-O!

Losing the cloak of legality?
[Read the article: Imperial presidency declared null and void]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]They never had it in the first place. Never. Since Day One.
They don't call it the Bush Crime Family for nothing.

This one hits home
[Read the article: WayLay]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]My wife and I have quite a bit of conflict about my criticism of her (duh...). My criticism of her isn't exactly made in the same way as presented here; I'm not quite THAT much of a cretin.
Still, this cartoon gave me a very valuable mirror.
I never know when these mirrors are going to pop up in my life. I just try my best to recognize 'em when I see 'em. I appreciated this one very much, Ms. Lay. Thanks for the insight, well-illustrated.
Later, Daddy-O!

Goddammit, Keef...
[Read the article: The K Chronicles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Don't you DARE jump!
(In a slight paraphrasing of the late, great Petey Greene...)

As soon as I read the teaser on salon's front page...
[Read the article: The K Chronicles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I knew this would be another winner from the Mighty Keef.
Dude...anyone actually stupid enough to even attempt that line is sending a message, loud and clear. They probably don't even know it, but the message is sent.
They're most likely not young, having heard that silly chestnut in a different era--and for that we can be thankful...
'Nuff said.

*sigh*
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Look...I know this is your job and all...an assignment that you have little choice but to write about...but what makes anyone think I'm interested in reading a review of a totally inane television program, much less actually watch it?
I mean, thanks for the warning, but I never made it past the first page...
Damn, I really wish Scott Baio would do something good again. "The Bread, My Sweet" was, if not great, then pretty good, and worth watching; I enjoyed that experience. I guess the director deserves credit for that one.
Maybe it went to his head.

It's not the Muslims they're worried about offending
[Read the article: Silencing "Opus," again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's George W. Bush and his tissue-thin skin.
Oh, and the troops. Can't offend the troops. Support the troops! Got to censor any POTENTIALLY offensive messages that shed the light of reality on their 'mission'.
I get the distinct feeling THAT'S who those editors are worried about, and not any possible fatwah edicts.

"Biographer Robert Draper explains that Bush has a surprising intellect but is incapable of curiosity and owning up to mistakes."
[Read the article: The scruffy charms of an insecure president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gee...and I always thought that being capable of owning up to your mistakes and a capable curiosity were the HALLMARKS of an intellect...was I wrong?
Or...maybe THAT'S why his 'intellect' is so "surprising"?
George W. Bush belongs in a straitjacket, in a prison cell, awaiting trial. That much is certain, obvious and true. Anyone who tells me his intellect is surprising is pissin' in my ear and trying to tell me it's only raining.

For a while back there, I thought I was beyond outrage and utter sadness
[Read the article: The unsettling deaths of Omar Mora and Yance Gray]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...until I read this story yesterday at Eschaton.
I'm so old...I remember seeing M*A*S*H* episodes where great care was always taken by the military brass of Congressmen's and two-star generals' sons in battle, and various other situations. The military is nothing if not a political animal, especially in the upper echelons.
It is utterly unbelievable to me that these mens' superiors did not take the greatest of care to make sure they did not come under the slightest scrutiny of the suspicion of the POSSIBILITY that these men would be punished for their words.
So much for that thought.
For any scoffing trolls out there: Just calculate the odds of two of these particular men dying, out of the 160,000 other soldiers in Iraq. If you can do the simple division...

Bush is and will be the new O.J.

Of course he's winning
[Read the article: Vengeance is Brandon Mayfield's]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Entire provisions in the Patriot Act were completely un-Constitutional when they were written, and are still today.
It was a futile, expensive and outrageous knee-jerk reaction to 9-11--that JUST happened to be pre-written and ready to pass into 'law', several thousand pages' worth, DAYS after 9-11.
Finding sections of this 'law' unconstitutional was a foregone conclusion--as long as we still reside in a country of REAL laws.

How articles like this overstress the importance of COMPETITION
[Read the article: How Oprah ruined the marathon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And THAT'S exactly what's wrong with America. You have it backwards.
Competition isn't important ENOUGH? There's something wrong with another American getting off their couches and actually moving their bodies 26 miles without an SUV involvled? And then feeling good about it?
Something's wrong with you, too, Buster.

Sorry, pattyleep...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I think people are missing the tone of the article, i.e. it's intended to be semi-humorous."
If I missed the intent of the writer, that's the WRITER'S fault.
And I doubt your comment here is valid. The tone of this article was established in its TITLE.
Well, he got hella COMMENTS to wade through for his little article. No doubt THAT was his REAL intent.
