It is a touching story -- but the key details are either untrue or grossly oversimplified.
Contrary to Obama's claims in speeches in January at American University and in Selma last year, the Kennedy family did not provide the funding for a September 1959 airlift of 81 Kenyan students to the United States that included Obama's father. According to historical records and interviews with participants, the Kennedys were first approached for support for the program nearly a year later, in July 1960. The family responded with a $100,000 donation, most of which went to pay for a second airlift in September 1960.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton acknowledged yesterday that the senator from Illinois had erred in crediting the Kennedy family with a role in his father's arrival in the United States. He said the Kennedy involvement in the Kenya student program apparently "started 48 years ago, not 49 years ago as Obama has mistakenly suggested in the past."
Which are: he's inexperienced, arrogant about his own ability to overcome normal political disputes, and his judgement in choosing friends and mentors is beyond horrible. The American public simply won't buy this product.
BO is trailing McCain by 12 points today in VA. States like VA are BO's "strength." Here is yet another example of why Obama doesn't stand a chance. Cultists will discount this and say "I agree." People who think for themselves will recognize it's over for Obama before it starts:

I'm one of the 28%. Hillary Clinton and John McCain are qualified for the job. Barack Obama is frighteningly unqualified, untested, and unproven. It's that simple. Party affiliation only goes so far.
Obama cultists will learn that in November if he becomes the Democratic nominee. The party will be irreparably split and the electorate will line up like so:
College students, college professors, newspaper editors, African Americans, and Democrats making over $200,000 on one side (Obama)
Democrats over 50, Republicans, majority of Independents, white men, white women, half of Latinos on the other (McCain)
"What is the determining factor"?
This. Obama cultists just don't get it. They will parse the remarks while just not getting it. Ohio and Pennsylvania and Florida will drift out of reach. Still, they just won't get it. McCain will win. And they just won't get it.

"Let's disenfranchise Florida and Michigan voters because the rules say they don't count (and besides if they count, I lose and I'm entitled to win "Affirmative Action style" by sending my lawyers to shut down re-votes)"
"Let's not let superdelegates determine the best candidate at the end of the process when we'll be left with small margins in pledged delegates and the popular vote, even though the rules say they exist to prevent Democrats from nominating a sure loser like me"
Man, I used to Love Bill Clinton because he did a great job at what we elected him to do... but WTF... will you destroy the your party and by proxy the whole country just to keep Hillary happy?
BO is the one destroying the party (and the country should he win the nomination, since he'll lose the election). He's cobbled together bullshit caucus wins with red states Democrats have no chance of winning, and with the mainstream media's help is calling himself a "winner."
BO supporters are joining BO's lawyers in their fight to make sure Florida and Michigan voters aren't included in the process. Just to keep the Anointed One happy, to use your words.
I'm one of the 28% who won't be voting for BO. I decided in 2000 that election thieves are scumbags.
