Funny thing about this pick

Palin's lack of experience would have been damaging if Hillary Clinton topped the Democratic ticket and today's announcement would have been laughable.

But Democrats can't laugh and ridicule because their ticket topper is an empty suit celebrity with about the same experience as Palin.

Obama's speech

Not newsworthy because we've already seen him read the same speech 50 times and he mispronounced inextricably in the most important part of the speech.

He's more like a circus dog walking on its hind legs. Gets your attention for a few minutes but then it's tedious.

PUMA's

PUMA's all over TV. They like this lady. If McCain picked a man they would probably end up voting Obama but not now.

Mission accomplished.

Impressions will get more favorable in the next few days not less.

Brilliant move for McCain.

Friday, August 29, 2008 04:03 PM

Just when the PUMA's were starting to

get over their anger and resolve to cast a tepid vote for Barack Dukakis, they get to be reminded all over again how Hillary was treated by Obama fans and sexists on TV. That will last until election day. Obama's biggest fans will hand McCain the presidency. Shakespearian.

Credentials

Say McSame croaks. Palin is now President Sarah Palin. What is her credential that makes her worthy of being THE Commander in Chief of the most powerful nation in the history of the world?

Same as Obama's only she appears to have some convictions and substance.

Hillary voters are loving this pick

They don't get it

And the reason won't be policy related, it will be because Democrats just don't get people who don't think like they do.

You said it. When I came out for McCain after Clinton lost they kept talking about abortion. I'm for it but don't vote on it and that's how most Clinton voters in big blue collar swing states are. I'm not impressed with Law Review or stadium sized crowds or will.i.am videos.

They don't get it but they will on election day.

Wrong

Obama made the right choice. picking Hillary would have made him look a weak supplicant.

You're mistaken. Not picking her made him look weak.

Bashing is being rinsed, repeated

You aren't doing anybody any favors by using sex-based terms like "shrill." In case you didn't get the memo, sexist-style Hillary bashing is over. It's been over since at least Tuesday night, but really it should have been over since last June. Actually, it should not have happened to begin with. Bashing her on issues and tactics? I'm there. Bashing her on any basis that sets her apart due to her sex/gender? Wrong.

It's far from over. It's just getting revved up again. The beauty of this VP pick.

Begala took the bait

McCain's campaign is counting on these kinds of sexist attacks to remind women about Hillary Clinton's media gangrape which will deliver the women's vote to McCain in November.

It's over for Barack Dukakis.

Tokenism

New McCain ad shows Obama saying this about himself in November 2004.

You know, I am a believer in … in knowing what you’re doing when you apply for a job. Uh, and I think that...if I were seriously to consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now, before having served a day in the Senate. Now there may be some people who are comfortable doing that, but I am not one of those people."

Qualifications

Sarah Palin was asked if she was ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. She said yes considering she would have a good team around her.

Obama was asked if he was ready to BE president, not a heartbeat away. He said "no."

@johnmich66

NOW you're digging through the Obama archives to find ONE instance where he was less than eloquent?

He wasn't less than eloquent he was absolutely clear when he said in November 2004 he would not be qualified to be president in 2008 and would not run because "I believe in knowing what you're doing."

"Token" @jebldmm

I never had any idea that so many supposedly liberal people thought these kinds of things about women. I just checked out Daily Kos, and there is a diary on the rec list claiming that Palin's husband is a "shadow governor", as if she isn't competent to govern herself. Here, on a "progressive" blog, there are TWO articles talking about her being a "token". She's a Governor. A self-made woman. A repected politician. McCain didn't pick a woman who has nothing to show for her life but a beauty pageant - she parlayed the scholarship she won in that pageant into Governorship of a low population but very powerful state. It's pretty standard for Governor's to balance Senators on Presidential tickets.

Bravo.

Thing about this election is that by the end everyone will have shown themselves and it won't be pretty for a lot of Democrats, mostly Barack Dukakis supporters.

Disgusting

Glad I'm not voting Democratic this year. You Barack Dukakis fans are putrid.

More respect for Palin

Palin and her daughter are walking the walk. Neither one had an abortion even though both of their lives would have been made much easier.

There's no hypocrisy. Obama fans are a nasty sort.

Barack Dukakis is Finished

The community organizer isn't tough enough to be president. He's over.

@Uncle Fester

Will Obama bring a knife to a gunfight? Stay tuned.

Corrupt isn't the same as tough.
