  • Don't ban words

[Read the article: Thank you, Rush Limbaugh!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Rhodes wasn't criticizing Clinton or Ferraro for being politically "easy." She was criticizing them for racist remarks, and paying attention to technicalities. That would be bigotry and pedantry, respectively, not whorishness. So in that context "fucking whore" was a gratuitous epithet.

So someone finally gets around to talking about context.

One could call Barack Obama a "fucking whore" without violating any boundaries because "whore" isn't sex-specific or profession-specific. Because BO is male, one wouldn't need to clarify he was referring to BO letting Rezko buy him a house.

Likewise one could call Hillary Clinton "lazy and shiftless" because it isn't race-specific and she's white, without referring to specific actions that demonstrated laziness and shiftlessness.

Calling a woman a "fucking whore" or a black man "lazy and shiftless" can still be acceptable, but added context is required because both historically served as sexist/racial slurs.

Neither phrase is completely out of bounds in every circumstance or context, and context determines whether it is merely an insult or a slur.

Blanket declarations about any words or phrases, ignoring context, are ill-advised.

  • Why is Obama going to lose Pennsylvania?

[Read the article: No, Hillary Clinton shouldn't be winning]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Obama is about to lose Pennsylvania.

    Why?

Try out your best spin, but the answer is he's going to lose Pennsylvania to Hillary Clinton for the same reasons he will lose to McCain in November if nominated.

Those reasons? Millions of Clinton primary voters (like me) who consider Clinton and McCain the only two candidates in the running who are suited to the presidency.

    Wake up and grow up.

  • Obama intended to lie his way out of "bitter" remarks

[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Anyone who thinks Obama's comments were a benign observation about "issues" is way too tired to be covering this campaign.

BO was speaking to an audience in SF and he thought no one recorded the remarks. The first story that came out of the campaign was that they didn't confirm or deny the comments were made.

They would have liked to leave it at that, except someone in attendance had recorded the comments.

Obama hoped to lie about the comments just like he lied about the NAFTA remarks by his economic adviser before names were named.

Bitter Barry did this all by himself. The reason charges of "out of touch elitist" resonate against BO is that he is an out of touch, arrogant elitist.

BO finished as a serious contender in a general election for one reason only: He's failed to successfully hide who he is.

His deceptive and condescending character has been exposed, with a little help from Mayhill Fowler and a NAFTA memo leaked by the Canadian government.

So to residents of the Obama compound it's a sign of respect to tell entire populations of small towns that they're too weak minded and stupid not to be blinded by a bad economy? They cannot maintain their rationality when times get tough, so they "cling to" religion and guns and racism?

America isn't like the Obama compound.

  • Obama is dividing the party and country

[Read the article: The rubes and the elites]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Nope. Small towners Obama was talking about don't "cling" to religion and guns. They like church and they like their guns.

They like Democratic economic policy too even if they think Democrats are atheists who want to take their guns.

Election time comes and they have to make a choice about what they like the most.

Elitists like Obama come along and tell them they don't really "like" religion and guns, they're just reacting irrationally to the poor economy and clinging to those parts of their culture because they're stupid and ain't got enough booklearnin' to think straight.

That tips the scales, and their decision becomes easier. They like their church, their guns, and not being insulted by some empty suit politician better than they like health care reform.

  • "It's so refreshing to hear a politician tell the truth"

[Read the article: The rubes and the elites]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If Obama was refreshingly telling the truth, why did he only tell it to maxed-out donors in San Francisco when he didn't think anyone was recording it?

And why did he apologize for it when he got caught?

  • Obama doesn't give a crap about small town voters.

[Read the article: The rubes and the elites]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He wasn't conveying "concern." The arrogant one was caught trying to explain to rich elitists in San Francisco how it could be humanly possible that poor people aren't in love with him like he and the maxed-out donors are.

If you didn't already know from a long list of verbal gaffes that Obama is completely tone deaf and clumsy outside of delivering pre-written speeches and lines, this is just plain freaky

Barack Obama appeared to have a bit of an awkward moment when his pants started vibrating during a campaign stop. The Senator was quick to point out he wasn't being "fresh."

Last week the pool report picked up on Obama acting "very flirtatious" on the trail.

CNN has part of the pool report:

"[Obama] posed for report pictures with the staff when he apparently felt his phone start to vibrate in his pocket on his right thigh - against which one woman was closely pressed.

"Now that's my phone buzzing there," he said, drawing a laugh. "I don't want you to think I'm getting fresh or anything."

  • Perfect analysis, ShawnWM

[Read the article: Bitter as hell in Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Considering we lost Iowa and almost Minnesota and Wisconsin with an experienced statesmen, decorated war hero and comparative centrist of John Kerry, I'm guessing that an inexperienced black liberal with a LOT of social baggage ain't gonna win them over there.

They want to close their eyes and "hope" this fact out of existence.

That's the kind of hope Barry Bamboozler peddles. Astounding anyone buys it.

  • Sure some people think this way

But no one who should be having any kids. You're way too neurotic. No offense.
