  • What I don't understand it ...

[Read the article: Why bathroom sex is hot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I hate right-wing homophobes as much as the next liberal and lived in SF and had enough gay friends for this article to neither shock me nor tell me anything I hadn't heard about.

But, what I haven't seen in any article that I've read about this is exactly what his crime was. He ran his hand under the stall? His foot was under the stall? Since when were these crimes?

    Am I missing something?

  • Most hideous article ever conceived.

[Read the article: Ask the pilot]

    Patrick,

Your articles are getting worse each week. You used to be insightful and informative. Now, you are just regurgitating the same crap we can read everywhere else. I'm sure you are a good pilot, but probably not such a good aeronautical engineer, and probably an even worse designer. Stick with what you know, which is why we read. Continue degenerating to the Boeing is better than Airbus crap and we'll stop all together.

  • I have a solution

Let Cary take care of the dog. He's so kind and understanding I'm sure he'd love to help out.

  • Why continue reading?

[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

In your first sentence you state: "Major network TV is seriously boring. I've strained to put a cheerful face on it, but now it's time to be honest." To me this means that everythingin your column wasn't worth reading.

  • Mitt is full of ....

    crap.

  • If Obama wins ....

This is what we get to hear about from now until November.

Anon is right. Looks like three in a row.

  • 3 in a row

[Read the article: John McCain works his military magic in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Unfortunately, we keep getting Republican presidents because the Democrats keeping screwing it up. Al Gore“s decision to ignore Clinton and the unelectable Lurch Kerry were bad, but the Dems seem to be missing a sure thing this time.

  • Not so fast Patrick

[Read the article: Ask the pilot]

Lima has quite a few interesting things to see and is worth at least a few days look if possible. It can be a little unsafe, though.

Santiago is a very nice city with a charming colonial center, nice views of the mountains, and in general is safe and the people very friendly. I use it as an occassional getaway from Buenos Aires.

Speaking of which, you (wisely) failed to mention Aerolineas Argentinas, which in my opinion may be THE WORST airline in the world. It's flights are perpetually delayed or canceled, and that's when things are going well. During a very frequent strike, you can forget anything taking off.

Agree with you 100% about Casablanca, though!

  • The ONLY reasaon that SouthWest is acceptable is ....

[Read the article: Ask the pilot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

that they fly shorter routes. It's easy not to get pissed off on a flight from Oakland to Burbank. I've flown that route at least 50 times.

I can't imagine taking a SouthWest style flight from SFO to Buenos Aires, however. Though I have to say that American and United are becoming more like SouthWest every flight.

  • She did it her way alright ....

[Read the article: Hillary's final curtain ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

and her way has done nothing but help the Republican party's chances in November.

Why must the Democratic party continue living in La La Land? This is about winning the election in November. NOT about who was the first this or the first that. Who cares? It's all moot if we don't win in November.

All of this reminds me of the idiotic mantra of the Nader supporters. 'Republicans and Democrats are all the same.' They are not all the same. HAVE NONE OF YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT HAS HAPPENED THE LAST 8 YEARS?

Now, pull your heads out of your rump and focus on what needs to be focused on. The general election in November.

  • Moanin' Joan

[Read the article: Obama's first week, one-on-one with McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Come on Joan, any true SF liberal wouldn't be caught dead in front of Pacbell Park (or whatever it's called these days). If you don't have the ballz to stand in front of the Oakland Coliseum, stay home! I'm sure King will devote a column to this. You've shown yourself to be the true yuppie you are. And a closet Reblican to boot.

  • Democrats

[Read the article: Why Obama should NOT pick Hillary Clinton as veep]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What sane person would support Hillary Clinton in the primaries, but vote for John 'Little W' McCain? Is the state of the democratic party such that this would be the case?

Either the Salon pundits have nothing worth writing about, of we are all screwed.

  • Now I get it...

[Read the article: Clinton and Obama, together at last]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Most of these die hard Billary Clintoon supporters aren't actually Democrats. They were just behind the woman candidate.

Now that she is no longer, they can vote McCain with a clear conscious, though not without crying and whining first.

I would guess that Moanin' Joan falls into this category. Look for Salon to endorse McCain any day now.

  • Consumption

[Read the article: The motor home fades into the sunset]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What is sad about seeing that great symbol of American, and especially midwestern, consumption being priced out of the average hick's reach?

This is exactly the kind of attitude that is destroying that planet. But, I wouldn't expect anything else from Cornpone Keilor.

    Who takes this guy seriously?

  • It's one thing to bring the red meat ....

[Read the article: Clinton to aim at McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

but the Democrats in general need to bring the barbeque.

  • Again, who cares ....

[Read the article: Ask the pilot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We get the idea that you don't like the design of the A380 and Airbus in general. And I think I speak for the majority of people who frequently have to fly long haul segments (for me, it's 4-5 13+ hr roundtrips per year) in coach that the inside of the plane is much more important.

If you want to continue to wax poetically, ala Garrison Keilor, about the romantic past of air travel that is your right. You are the one getting paid to write this column. But it is becoming unreadble.

I've said this before in response to your other subjective ramblings about the look of the A380, but stick to what you know and we will continue to read. Your insight as a pilot and knowledge of the aviation industry is what made your column unique. Not your experience as an industrial design critic.

  • Hokey

[Read the article: How did Sarah Palin do?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That is the word that comes to mind. I could only watch a few minutes. Her whiney voice is far too grating.

I used to think that NOTHING could be worse than W. I guess I may be proven wrong.
