Of COURSE that's what the amendment was about

[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Lieberman-Kyl Amendment was nothing more than a preemptive Get Out of Jail Free card for an attack on Iran. It was blatanly obvious to me the moment I heard that Bush was attempting to categorize the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.
The instant he did that we started walking down the path to war.
And I have zero faith in our completely worthless congress that it will stop once the ball is rolling. The Republicans are Nazi zombies and the Democrats are spineless idiots who are being led around like a bull with a ring in its nose. That, or they're DINOs and are secretly itching for a war too.
What the hell happened to this country? The idea that the only thing stopping a war would be the refusal of the military itself is, as Glenn rightly points out, an idea so bizarre that one would have thought it impossible. And yet, here we are.
The checks and balances do not work. Our representatives are either useless or lockstep fascists. Regardless, they do not listen to us and they do not represent us in the slightest.
If things don't turn around, and this regime is intent upon dragging us into another pointless quagmire, it will take a revolt of some kind by the populace to wake these psychopaths up. And I'm not talking about paper signs and marching in the streets, or not going shopping for a day.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]It makes me literally sick to my stomach to know that these brainless, soulless, dishonorable, trigger-happy psychopaths are running rampant around Iraq and blatantly murdering innocent civilains.
What enrages me is that there is no oversight, no authority and no way to reign in these maniacs or punish them when they brazenly and wantonly overreact and murder innocent civilians.
When the main motivator for fighting a war is greed you fight the war with whomever is willing to do it. In this case, mercinaries.
The United States Armed Forces has a code of honor and a code of conduct that is iron-clad and has been tested throughout our history in the various conflicts in which we have been engaged.
Mercinaries have no honor. Mercinaries have no code of conduct. When you give trigger happy maniacs machine guns and military equipment the predictable result is that they will act in horrible ways and exhibit no restraint, no thought processes and no concept of how to conduct operations in a combat theater.
I keep thinking that the last gut wrenching story I hear about this administration and how corrupt and disgusting they are, and how awful and indefensable the actions they condone, is as low as our country could go. That it is as awful as we could hope to get. What begins to erode my morale and faith in my nation, is how wrong I am proven to be in those thoughts, time and again.

When in the hell are politicians going to wake up and stop pandering to these psychopaths? We all know that "family values" is just code for "we hate gays" anyhow.
I'm not a huge fan of Giuliani, but his social views regarding guns and gays are based on pragmatism. That's what happens when you are the mayor of a richly diverse city of 8 million people- you have to be pragmatic to get things done.
As far as Tony Perkins' assertion that Giuliani is "far from the mainstream," I would assert that a group of hatemonger theocratic bigots is much farther from the mainstream.
It would be a breath of fresh air if someone in Washington would openly tell Dobson to stick it where the sun don't shine. When politicians allow Dobson to bend their ear, they give much more credibility to this pathetic man than he truly deserves.

I guess that's kind of like "Turdblossom" or any of the other cutesy nicknames bandied about.
Honestly though, Limbaugh rambles so damned much while trying to make a point I'm really surprised anyone who listens to this show can make heads or tails of it. The only thing I can glean from it is hot air with variations of tone, pitch and inflection. But no real information.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]aka the credit card industry has a vested interest in promoting the fun and easy method of spending via credit cards. And, as mentioned, the bankruptcy laws reflect an attitude that people in credit card debt are just impulsive and irresponsible.
But what about people who use credit cards to help get them through school (as I did)? My balance is by no means outrageous compared to some, but it will still take many years to pay off at the outrageous back alley loan shark rate given to me by Visa.
My uncle worked for a Consumer Credit card agency for years. His advice? Cash only. And checks to pay your bills. It might not be fun and glamorous but it gets you into less trouble.
