When is this country ever going to grow up?

Honestly?

It was a flash of a breast. A breast. So what! There is nothing harmful about it.

Only in America, where our entertainment media is choked with blood and violence and killing, would we find fault in something completely natural and harmless.

We need to get over this self-loathing Puritanical streak that has been strangling us for centuries. It's making us look like total jackasses to the rest of the developed world.

Perfect GOP shill

The party of "We hate Fags!" just found another spokesperson. Lovely.

Good thing that he won't let any of us queers near his kids- you can catch gay, you know. Just like the swine flu.

It seems that the opposite would be true

Why would any talented and qualified individual wish to serve in an organization or administration where corruption and compromised integrity not only go unpunished, but are encouraged?

I, for one, would not like to be a part of a business or organization that is rotten with corruption. I'm sure if I were one of the "best and brightest" I would seek to utilize my talents elsewhere- until the mess was cleaned up.

The whole point of what I am saying is based upon the fundamental trust that must exist for both our government and our banks to function. The American people must have faith that these systems will work for us and will function effectively. In the absence of the prosecution of torturers, American citizens can rightly assume that our governmental system is corrupt, and will remain corrupted. The same goes for our banking system. Then public trust vanishes, and these systems fail to function effectively.

Doesn't anyone get this?

Headline: "Republicans piss pants, throw tantrum"

So, nothing new since the inauguration, basically.

Agreed

"See, this is not a partisan film. This is really focusing on the issue of the closet, and the damage it does to gays and lesbians."

I wholeheartedly agree. This is what the gay rights movement has been about since its inception- the freedom to live a life true to yourself and to participate in society without fear of retribution.

The closet does fucked up things to people, politician or no. Living a lie or a double life is a torturous thing for someone to have to endure.

I really wish that tomorrow every single closeted gay and lesbian person in America would come out. Then all of the anti-gay lies, legislation and mythology would grind to a halt.

palin

For the record- yet again- let me join the chorus of reasonable people to reiterate that abstinence only education is a failure and the ONLY way to reduce teen pregnancy and STD rates is for comprehensive, science based sex ed.

Now, with that out of the way, is anyone else completely repulsed how Bristol Palin is being trotted out as this abstinence-only culture warrior? She isn't even twenty yet, and she's already being pushed and prodded into the machinations of her mother's blind and rabid political ambitions. Gross.

We are being held hostage by financial terrorists

What else could the explanation be? We've pumped billions upon billions into the banking industry in order to stabilize our economy- only to find out that this enormous and unprecedented amount of money just isn't enough. Not only isn't it enough - we don't know where all of it has gone, or what it was used for.

This disgusts me to no end. Our tax dollars are being looted by the most reprehensible, immoral, greedy parasites in history- and the vast majority of us are struggling to stay afloat.

When will this country finally free itself from the disgusting banker slime that strangles our economy and keeps our nation from returning to vitality?

Great Start!

"reduce teen pregnancy using evidence-based and promising models."

Excellent, now lets move forward with "evidence-based" solutions to global warming, healthcare, stem cell research, and cures for Cancer and AIDS.

How refreshing that we're now going to be using actual science as it relates to health care and biology!

TMI

Don't go into too much detail, and don't mention that it was due to being drunk. People drink, it happens. But when you lose your job over it, even if it was a one time incident, potential employers will always- always- go with someone else. It sucks, but there it is.

Generally with references (as is my understanding) potential employers can only legally make referral to the time you worked and ask, generally, whether your past employer would hire you again. Other questions are likely to be related to the nature of the job, not all of the hoary details or office gossip.

Awful policy- needs to go

The loss of military personnel like Lt. Choi is a powerful example of how counter-productive the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is. Our military is being deprived of crucial members at a time when they are most needed.

The response of Lt. Choi's fellow soldiers also underscores how misguided the policy is in regard to unit cohesion. Our soldiers are professionals, they can handle the open acknowledgment of their peers.
