so don't worry about it. Just friend them and forget it. Most of the "friends" you take in on either Frendster or MySpace are people you rarely, if ever, communicate with.
A lot of the time these sites are a passive way of checking in with people without the obligation of contact or getting together. You won't have to go to lunch or invite them to your birthday or any of that.
Contrary to Rep. Cantor, who asserted:
"What transpired . . . and will give us a shot in the arm going forward is that we are standing up on principle and just saying no."
Actually, what you are doing is standing up and saying "Fuck you!" to the American worker, to millions of American families who are struggling, and millions of Americans who have lost, or are about to lose their homes.
Don't you get that?
This is a moment in history where we absolutely need to come together and fix the enormous problems at hand. We don't need congressional representatives (read: the Republican party) dragging their feet and hurting us all by stalling on this.
The American people know this, and they also know that the Republican party is playing partisan politics with a life or death issue. But, clueless and disconnected as ever, the Republican leadership sees this as a victory.
Is it any wonder these people were obliterated in the election?
Haven't heard of him in months. Man, it feels great!
Here we go again with the wingnut conspiracy theories. We can look forward to at least 4 more years (hopefully 8 more!!) of this kind of thing.
Reminds me of all of the tinfoil hat stories about Bill Clinton and all of the people he "killed".
Do the Democrats in Congress realize that they WON the election? Why cave on education, which has a direct and beneficial impact on millions, and can create jobs? Why give in to more "tax cuts"? That is nothing but trickle down bullshit that only benefits the wealthy. Why give an inch to the whiny, idiotic obstructionist GOP? (With the exception of 3?)
I am glad that something was done, and that an agreement was reached (record time, in my recollection). I hope, however, that this is the only time that the majority party (Dems, in case they need the hint) compromise on something so vital.
I am also very glad and very impressed by Obama's handling of the situation. I think the town hall meeting was a stroke of political genius, which illustrated perfectly that "average" Americans completely understand the mess we're in, even if the minority party in Congress doesn't have a clue.
There are places in India and Africa where children die of preventable diseases because they cannot have something as simple as clean drinking water.
But we in America buy clothing and shoes and hats...for dogs.
Just sayin'.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue

based on a pack of lies.
and hypocritical. Typical of members of the Republican party to constantly harp about taxes, and what a boondoggle ANY kind of federal spending is...and then with one hand behind their back take a big fat federal handout for their state.
If I were a constituent in any of the above mentioned states, I would be working my ass of to make sure my present governor didn't stand a snowballs chance of being re-elected. Typical of the current Republican mindset, the unbridled hatred of anything related to the central federal government causes a knee jerk reaction against the stimulus which could directly benefit not only their state, but the citizens therein. Again, stupid and brain dead ideology trumps measures that will be of great benefit. To citizens living in these states- this is a giant wake up call- your governor is out of touch and doesn't care about the problems you face.
And Grover Norquist? Please. That man won't be happy until the Republican party pulls a homegrown version of the Reichstag fire.
