Original article: Did Elizabeth Edwards know?

Thank you dvsmith

The reasons that you listed are exactly the reason I pay attention to politics and political discourse in this country.

I could care less about the dalliances of John Edwards. I do however have an extreme and vested interest in issues that have a direct and daily impact upon my life. I and millions of Americans feel the same.

And- as usual- the media is FAILING utterly and completely to cover issues that are substantial and impact the lives of millions.

My Concern Troll Letter

"I am an Obama supporter and supported him in the primaries. But lately, gee, I mean, he doesn't seem to know what to do and, I mean, gosh, he's great and connects with people but- do you really think he can Pull It Off? Once the convention starts??

I mean, gee, well, he talked about tire inflation! And I know that Inflationgate will resonate in the mind of those White Working Class Voters a whole lot more than the economy or Iraq or any of that.

But do you really think he Has What It Takes? Can he Really Lead? I mean, well, gee I don't know. But I support Obama, really and truly I do."

Who would have thought?

That unilateral aggression against another nation would have backfired?

In all seriousness, this illustrates how unbelievably short-sighted the actions of the Bush administration were. Not only did they fail to plan for what would happen directly after the invasion, they were (and apparently still are), completely blind to the precedent such action sets on the international stage.

Let's not forget that a unilateral invasion (by Saddam) is exactly the reason that we entered into the first Gulf War. The same action is now being taken by the Russians against Georgia.

This administration has shown time and again that it is incapable of planning beyond the gratification of its immediate impulses.

It's a shame that we pissed away our credibility in a fit of knee jerk jingoism and greed, when the stability of an entire region, and perhaps the world, could so benefit from it now.

"I can't wait to hear hoe president BO will not be able to save the US, because Bush and Dick messed things up SO badly...

Really I can't wait....."

Kind of like how the right wing constantly blames Bill Clinton for everything under the sun?

Bad economy? Bill Clinton's fault.

Osama is still free? Bill Clinton's fault.

"Weak military"? Bill Clinton's fault.

Oh, and the energy crisis were in? That's actually Jimmy Carter's fault.

I'll buy Corsi's book!

And keep it in the bathroom in case I run out of toilet paper.

Don't we still have a f*$%ing separation between church and state in this country?

Or is that one of those "quaint" notions like the Geneva Convention and the 4th Amendment that we've had to do away with?

I cannot tell you how infuriated and sick and tired I am of these religious hucksters horning their way into the democratic process and poisoning the well against reasonable discourse.

At bare minimum, the Saddleback Church should lose its tax exempt status. If religious leaders want to play politics they can ante up like everyone else.

Did he get his advance from Karl Rove?

Honestly, who does Wright think this is going to help? It certainly won't help the Obama campaign- the moment the book is released right wing media outlets like Fox News will hype it as a book by Reverend "God Damn America" Wright.

It shows yet again that Wright has no interest in furthering or helping the Obama campaign, but is only interested in burnishing his own ego. Just when the country was starting to move past this and focus on the candidates, this disastrous windbag pops back into the picture. Thanks a lot, A-hole.

Now that I've read the links and letters...

Nevermind.

Too bad I got suckered in by that.

Who would have thought

that Warren would be giving a blatant wink and nod endorsement to McCain, despite his assertion that he "wasn't endorsing any candidate"?

What a huckster. This event was obviously slanted to the GOP candidate and more about giving Warren air time than having a reasonable and balanced discussion.

But, 'say one thing- do another' is standard operating procedure for Republicans and evangelical leaders in this country so, sadly, I'm unsurprised.

Original article: What Obama needs most

Biden

He doesn't back down and can be just as much of an asshole to the right wing as they would be to him. We need that. I'm sick and tired of playing nice with these bullies. The GOP needs to be hammered on their lies and failures and not allowed to weasel away as they've been able to for years.

Biden also offers extensive foreign policy experience- I would go so far as to say he can even outmaneuver McCain on this issue.

Kaine is too much of an unknown, and I feel that Obama is making inroads in Virginia regardless.

The speech should be great

as long as he doesn't mention ManBearPig!!

:)

Seriously, I'm looking forward to seeing Al Gore have a chance to speak to a large national audience again. It also shows great confidence by Obama that he could have such a major progressive figure speak on Thursday without the fear of being upstaged.
