Spay and Neuter your Blue Dogs

Just because a politician has a (D) after their name, doesn't mean they aren't as crooked as a barrel of snakes.

Pelosi and Reid have demonstrated that in abundance these past few, shameful years.

We need a purging of these so-called "Blue Dog" Democrats. They do us no service, and in fact worsen the nation through their craven support of anything and everything Bush desires.

What worries me is what Glenn illustrated:

"Democratic leaders will quite rationally conclude that the optimal way to increase their own power, to transform more Republican districts into Blue Dog Democratic seats, and thereby make themselves more secure in their leadership positions, is to move their caucus to the right."

This is perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the "Blue Dog" mentality-the push to the right in order to garner votes.

This is a Democratic Republic. Our choices as voters should be more than "Right" and "Hard Right".

Flip Flop Romney

How does a seemingly progressive governor from "Taxachusetts" become one of the front runners for the Republican VP spot on McCain's ticket?

By pulling one of the greatest personal flip-flops in political history.

At the beginning of Bush's first term, Romney was the governor of a progressive state, advocating state sponsored health care, and promising his gay and lesbian constituents that they have a "friend" in him.

Now he's cozying up to McCain, who would be nothing more than a third term for the Bush administration's policies.

This demonstrates nothing more than a craven desire for power. I can't imagine how someone would have such a radical change in beliefs and political position otherwise.

Yikes!

Step one...

Take a deep breath, calm down, relax and focus.

I recognize by your letter that you have a lot on your plate right now. That being said, I can't remember ever reading such a scattershot letter in this column.

What is it that you want? You say you need a job, you want to be creative, you hate the 9-5 world, you want to go back to school, you want to move away, you can't be near your parents but you want to be independent but to do that you have to move in with them so you can move halfway around the world to go to school in Australia but then you have a dog and who will watch my stuff and and and...

Calm...down...

I think what you are really lacking right now is focus. To find that you need to get some quiet time and really think about what you want and what you need. You will have to sit down, and take quiet time and think about this rationally. Take a day or two and go somewhere quiet, away from life and work and think it over. Be rational. Draw up lists. Pro and con.

Every progress and change in life demands a sacrifice. That's the adult world.

I wish you luck.

Difficult

It hardly surprises me that Wal Mart should be shilling for the GOP. I remember the last time I went into one (c.2004) the book displays at the front of the store were packed with Republican authored screeds, the Left Behind series, books on Jesus, and (I think)one space for John Edwards' book.

I'm curious as to how many workers at Wal Mart would be considered "Low Information Voters" as pollsters and pundits like to call it. How much of this election will be influenced by the damage these bullshit meetings create?

What is dangerous and insidious about this, is the blatant arm twisting political tactics that Wal Mart is employing. The insinuation to workers is they should vote Republican if they want to keep their jobs.

The tactics Wal Mart uses against their employees, their blatant anti-union stance, and the fact that most of their products are cheap flimsy shit made in China has kept me from spending even a single nickel in their stores for almost five years. I'll never set foot in another one, and I know I'm not alone.

Desperation

That's what these tactics amount to. McCain sold his "Maverick" image down the river and is hoping no one will notice it until November.

Which makes me wonder- what is Obama doing to counter this crap?

And please, take the image of that disgusting fuck Rove off the front page. I'm going to lunch soon.

Original article: In defense of casual sex

Not unusual- and nothing wrong with it!

I don't see anything wrong with people exploring their sexuality and desires in a responsible way.

What would you rather do- explore different relationships and realize what you really want and what makes you truly happy? Or- "save" yourself for someone and end up with someone you're sexually and emotionally incompatible with?

Seems like a no brainer to me. :)

This is

the most disgustingly cynical campaign ad I have ever seen.

John McCain should be ashamed of himself for promoting such garbage.

Please let it go already

This group is glancing at windmills.

Seriously though, I wonder how many of them are registered Rethugs taking Rush's Operation Chaos just a bit further?
