Talking Head Endorses Right-Wing Blowhard for Pulitzer

Here we go again with the Right Wing Party Hack line affirming that only Republicans care about the history of America, and therefore are the only ones fit to lead it. It's in their bones, after all.

This is another example of Republicans trying to frame the debate in terms which automatically put progressives at a disadvantage. Noonan is hoping that Obama will have to flail and contort to prove his patriotism. He will have to bend over backward to prove that he loves America. McBush, however, will not be held to such a test. How could he not love America? He's a Republican. Republicans are apple pie, Jesus, the flag, mom, and World War II all rolled up into one. Nevermind that they've been pulling the rug out from under this country for the past eight years. Nevermind that they've destroyed our economy. That they pulled us into a war we didn't need. Or that they treat our service members like pawns. Nevermind all of that.

Obama doesn't need to get misty eyed over the Wright Brothers or Henry Ford (and neither would I, about Ford. He was a greedy Anti-Semitic prick, despite building good cars.)

Obama has proven that he cares about this nation because he realizes that he is a living example of the possibility that America allows. He himself has said that only in America would his candidacy be possible.

After reading Brian Williams' article, I can only assume that Fox News will be calling him with a job offer by the end of the week. And shame on you, Mr. Williams, for giving into homophobia and engaging in gay bashing four paragraphs in.

The fact that I disagree with Peggy Noonan's article isn't the only reason I find fault with it. She has three different articles that she's cramming into one. The photo of the child being scanned by TSA gives me the chills, as does the first segment of her article. I shudder to think what kind of propaganda she would've written had she been living in Europe seventy years ago.

Rev. Wright

If you MSM hacks would hammer John McCain half as much as you've been harping on this tired ass Wright "scandal", we might actually have a chance in getting the White House back in November.

Anybody care about that still?

Differences

He says that you'll be living in poverty in the future, but by your description of him, he is already living in an intentional state of poverty.

I can't help but to wonder if he's this miserly in regard to his emotional affection for you. It sounds like you are good friends, but how are you as partners? (I don't just mean sexually, of course).

It sounds like you have a great life set up for yourself, you are a secure person, can take pleasure in simple things, and have a great circle of friends.

Maybe you and this man would be better as friends? Maybe you can find another man to be in a relationship with, if you desire. These are questions only you can answer.

Original article: Boehner: "Why We Can Win"

Fixing a Broken Washington

Well, since you all broke it in the first place...

"Democrats have a significant financial advantage...NOT by middle-class Americans."

Only true if you completely discount the financial status of the Democratic front runner- Barack Obama, who has raised the majority of his funds through donations by working class Americans.

Not only do we Democrats have a financial advantage, we also have a moral advantage. The stink of failure and incompetence emanates from all things Republican. From the economy, the war in Iraq, the environment, damage to our civil liberties - all of that is due to Republican actions. It'll take a hell of a lot more than gay bashing and scaring the fundies this time around to make Americans vote for the right.

"America is a Center-Right country"

Except for polls, which show that American citizens are progressive on many issues. Especially in regard to the war in Iraq. 70 percent want us out of there.

Americans want change because the Republicans have done such a stellar job of fucking up everything they’ve touched for the past eight years. Congressional approval ratings are so low because stubborn assholes like this refuse to compromise on anything that isn’t a blow job for Bush.

Americans want change all right. But we know for a fact that the change this country desperately needs is not going to come from a Republican.

Good News for Democrats

Regardless of who wins our party's nomination, they will have an excellent strategic advantage by tying Bush to McCain.

And while McCain might even take the drastic step of denouncing Bush in an effort to distance his campaign from the disasters of this administration- we need only remind the American voting public that McCain's policies are like Bush's in every way.

We need to hammer home the point that a vote for McCain is a vote for four more years of Bush.

Exactly, Reality Based

I mentioned this the same day Clinton's comments were aired - but not a peep from any of the columnists here.

Regardless, I don't think this is the foot you want to start off on if you're trying to be the next president. Assuming Clinton is nominated and elected it's going to take an already tense situation and if not make it worse, keep it just as tense.

Obama believes (correctly!) that diplomacy can solve our tension with Iran. Clinton wants to blow them to shreds. Yeah, good plan.

If you want love and commitment

Start by dating someone WHO ISN'T ALREADY MARRIED.

Although I'm wondering what your idea of commitment might be if you're okay with carrying on an adulterous relationship behind the back of another woman's husband.

Just sayin'.
