Clinton implied Thursday that McCain was more qualified to be commander in chief than Obama.

Thanks a lot. What side are you running for again?

And on a completely unrelated note, anyone notice how blatant the Clinton endorsements have been from Saturday Night Live? First the appearance by Clinton helps throw last Tuesday's primaries to her, and this week a re-hash of the "3 a.m." call makes Obama out to be an incompetent fool.

@ lolcait: "If Obama wins the nomination, I will vote for McCain."

Really?

100 more years in Iraq doesn't bother you? Nomination of more right-wing supreme court justices doesn't bother you? A continuation of the Bush tax and economic policies is okay? The attack on our civil liberties remaining un-addressed?

I'm forthcoming about my support of Obama, but I will gladly vote for Hillary if she is the nominee. I can't imagine the logic of a sour-grapes vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't clinch the nomination. It doesn't make a bit of sense to me.

You cannot honestly conflate Obama with Hitler and Stalin just because he can motivate voters and speak well, can you?

Whatever point you were building to in your post got shot to hell the second you pulled that one out.

Revolting

The complete and utter failure of the media cannot be overstated. Imagine how many lives would have been saved had they actually done their jobs instead of being brainless lapdogs.

Original article: Targeting bad Democrats

Something I'm doing

Using Photoshop, I've created postcards that I am sending to all of the Blue Dogs and Republicans. I took the old image of "Don't Tread On Me" and replaced "Tread" with "Spy". On the back, I am writing, "End Telecom Ammunity."

Just a creative way to express my displeasure, and physical mail tends to pile up in a more dramatic fashion.

Job Training?

For what jobs? Did anyone care to notice that we're in a recession here? It's kind of pointless to train people for jobs they won't be able to find when the training ends.

Bush is now pushing for a free trade agreement with Colombia, arguing it is necessary for "national security."

Well, something has to manage the skyrocketing cost of cocaine!

So, I guess "abstinence only" education doesn't work.

What a shockeroo.

The CDC recommendations make complete sense, as does a COMPREHENSIVE sex ed program in schools. Education is the first step to the prevention of STD's, and the more FACTS people have, the better the prevention.

Not that a step like this wouldn't be politicized, or the discussion stolen by religious groups, but one can still have hope for rationality.

The Fear of Failure

I hear you.

A wiser person than myself once told me, "If you want to do something well, you have to be willing to do it poorly at first."

The desire for success and the fear of failure may make you hesitant to try. But the creative endeavour is worth the effort, even if success (however defined) comes a bit further down the road. It usually does, and only after hard work.

The denial comes as a bit of a surprise

The Tina Fey sketch was funny, I'll admit. But the impact of having Clinton on the week before the Ohio and Pennsylvania primaries certainly made a difference. They could have had Obama on, right?

Last week, there was a sketch related to the "3 A.M." ad (as I mentioned in a previous post) which hit hard on the Clinton line of Obama's "inexperience". It showed Clinton counseling an inept President Obama on the phone at 3 A.M. during a crisis. Satire certainly has it's place, but that seemed like a thinly veiled political hit job. I've been watching SNL since I was seven years old and I can't recall a sketch that biased.

If SNL wants to have a Clinton bias, fine. But at least be open about it.

As a side note

I'd be interested in seeing/reading the statistics regarding rape and sexual violence of a country like The Netherlands, which has legalized prostitution (and much less draconian drug laws than the United States).

At bare minimum, their views of both sexuality and recreational drug use are certainly less tightly wound and puritanical than our own.

When all you have is a hammer...

everything starts to look like a nail.

I look forward to this conference because it will allow these soldiers to express their experiences to the media who has been stifled and kept from doing their job in regard to this war by the intense media blackout enforced by the ideology of this administration.

I get nauseous just imagining what he would consider unsuccessful.

Original article: War? What war?

"As news coverage has evaporated, what Americans know about the war has grown hazier, too. "

Coincidence? I think not.

As this colossal blunder staggers into its fifth year, and the costs ratchet toward 3 trillion dollars- the last thing this administration wants to remind the voting public about is the reality of the situation.

Better for quick and empty platitudes to be given by Darth Cheney. Then we can go back to focusing on what really matters - the sex escapades of governors!!!
