"WHAT IS IT ABOUT OBAMA LOSING THAT YOU CAN'T ACCEPT?"

I think the biggest thing I can't accept about it is that a belief that it will happen has any base in reality.

Clinton is going to lose this primary, already has in any logical way. To still believe that she can win this thing is to rely on an irrational, delusional mindset which is in no way healthy. The superdelegates are not going to go overwhelmingly for Clinton, which she needs them to, unless she gets more of the pledged delegates or the popular vote, which she cannot do. They are not going to overturn the will of voters. She would have to get huge margins in all the remaining ten states, and she won't even win most of them. She'll win two more, and that's it. So even if MI and FL were counted she'd still be behind in both.

You can lean on Rev. Wright's comments as much as you want to, but as far as us non-rabid citizens see it, the whole issue is asked and answered. You should be careful though, because to continually use the double standard of the inflamatory black pastor is worse than the many inflamatory white pastors everyone else has, makes you look a little bit like a bigot.

  • She Lied

[Read the article: "It is possible ... that she misspoke"]

A misstatement is when you mistakenly or unintentionally say something that you do not intend. Saying Cleveland, Iowa, instead of Cleveland, Ohio, would be a misstatement. Calling someone by the wrong name would be a misstatement, if you actually knew their right name and jsut had a brain fart or something.

A whole paragraph on a fictional account of a trip to Bosnia is not a misstatement. The words were written, thought out, and completely intentional. And they were not true. Not in the slightest.

She intended every word of that story. She intended the whole account, and not a word of it was true, and she knew it. Her recount of her trip is so ridiculous that it cannot be possible that she misremembered the trip either. I think its pretty clear she, knowingly and willfully, lied.

I think everyone sees this clearly. Nobody believes different. Which is why folks like locait are not saying a single word trying to defend Clinton here. Because not even the most delusional shill could possibly come up with an argument saying she didn't lie. Which is why the rebut has been to attack Obama, who is not actually at issue here.

It's the same thing my Dad does when I argue with him about politics. Criticize Bush about Katrina, and he'll come back with how much John Kerry annoys him. Which has nothing to do with Katrina. He's done this for years.

Don't go down this road folks. Obama is not at issue here. Clinton is. This is all about Clinton lying, not about anything Obama has said or done. Try to defend what Clinton said locait, or try to dismiss it. Otherwise I think everyone should just go ahead and ignore you.

  • This independent voter...

[Read the article: Clinton: Wright "would not have been my pastor"]

...thinks its kinda funny in a sad way the way that all the Democrats around here are trying their absolute best to rip each other's throats out around here. I definitely admit to taking part in the debates of course, but at least I try never to stoop to the vitriol some people here do. Entertaining as it is.

I beginning to really think that all this worry about the race doing serious unfixable damage to your party might have something to it. I usually don't buy crap like that; I mean dyed in the wool Democrats vote for Democrats just as blindly as dyed in the wool Republicans vote for Republicans. But this is a really unprecedented situation, and its getting uglier by the day.

And honestly, seeing as how Clinton can't honestly think she can gain any kind of legitimate victory, I'm not sure how all this damage can't be placed squarely at her and her campaign's feet. Anyone else would have quit the race by now if they hadn't just been shoved off the stage, specifically to avoid this kind of mess.

You might think that my fondness for Obama is coloring my judgement here, and maybe it is, but facts are facts; she can't win. And if she thinks she's getting another chance in four years if Obama and the party are so damaged by her ambition that they lose, she really has to be delusional.

Oh, and by the way, Smith, to something you said a few pages ago- Even if I was a Democrat, and not an independent, It would not be treason to vote for McCain.

It would, however, be utterly disgraceful to vote for someone who I honestly believe is a crook and a liar.
