Original article: Who is McCain's pick?

Hope it is not Palin

I would be very surprised if he chose a Women, McCain seems for of the I like my women seen not heard type. He certainly does not show Cindy any respect. If so the VP will be more like a first lady job and it will just be a gimmick. She certainly will not be chosen for her resume.

If it is Palin I can't wait for the debates. Biden will destroy her.

Bad Choice

She was the mayor of a town of less then 9000, Gov. less then 2 years. Women will see this as the gimmick it is. And what benefits does Alaska bring? It was already his. He has been ripping Obama on his experience so he picks someone younger and with less. Does not make sense at all. Obama was editor of Law Review she has a bachelors in Journalism.

Original article: Nets confirm: It's Palin

He always said the press was his base

She has a bachelor's degree in journalism. Minors in politics. Wow, just wow. Mayor of a town of less then 9000. What the hell is he thinking? Does he really think women are that dumb?

I think i saw pigs fly

WTF GOP cheering for Clinton!!! HAHAHAHAHa

She is not a great speaker or maybe it was just nerves, but really it is a gimmick and insulting to so many experienced women.

Original article: What Sarah Palin means

It makes me wonder something else

she chose not to abort her fifth child, now four months old, even after she discovered he had Down's syndrome (the fact that decision is newsworthy creates a weird implication that a Democratic woman would make a different decision.)

It makes me wonder how much time she will get to spend with him while campainging and if she does get the job, how much time then. He was so cute leaning on his sisters shoulder during her speech. Will he get many chances to do that with his mom in the coming months?

@Jebldmm

I was responding to what Joan said and how she thought it would change the conversation.

She chose to have the baby knowing the new challanges it would bring, now he is 4 months old and she is starting on a very very hard path with incredible long hours and lots of traveling. Seeing that baby on his sisters shoulders did not make me think Wow how brave, it made me think ahh poor little guy has no idea what a giant shitstorm just erupted in his life. It would make me think the same thing if it was his dad at the podium too. For me it did not add a new angle to the abortion conversation. I was not saying anything about her parenting, I was commenting on the serperation they would face and it did not change the conversation.

She said Nucular!

No not another one!

Friday, August 29, 2008 02:49 PM

Yes she said Nucular and....

While our nation is at war, while we're fighting in some sense over energy supplies, it's ridiculous, we do have the energy sources here."

and

"I've Been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq."

Evangelicals

The more I think about it, I think the Hillary voters may be only part of it. This women is very conservative and the Evangelicals that put Bush in office will love her. They will ignore the fact of her not being a stay at home mother because she is pro choice to the extreme.

And can we please ban the word Mavrick from the rest of the election season? Please.

Friday, August 29, 2008 06:55 PM

The worst thing about her is....

She hates the Polar Bears!!!

And she thinks creationism should be taught in schools.

OH Hell

You have got to be kidding me. They say he knew when he chose her? What vote is he going for? Ya great mother, did not teach her daughter about birth control.

Family Values

I don't understand why she would put her daughter through this. She could have said no to the VP slot and the way her career is going she could run for POTUS herself in a few elections. I think she is a person who puts her ambition in front of her family. She has a downs baby 4 months old and a pregnant teen. I think the focus should be on her family not running for the VP.

Sometimes all working parents have to put the career on the back burner for a while I know I have. And don't go off about "If she were a man" Because a father would get the same response from me.

Monday, September 1, 2008 10:58 AM

@Cdevlin

She knew before she took the nomination, she could have said No. The press in Alaska alone would have been much easier to handle then TMZ and Inside Edition. She is a rising star in the party she can run herself if a few elections. It may have hurt but sometimes parents have to put the needs of the family before a job. It sucks but many of us have done it.

Prediction

I think Palin will drop out in a few days, and they will blame the evil liberal media for picking on poor Sarah and her family. Then they will put Jindal on the ticket, he has been great in the readiness efforts for Gustav and they also get claim a first with his background.

Seacrest

Look for Ryan Seacrest at the convention to try to sign up the Palin's for a new E! reality TV show.
