will not permit this to come to a full vote. But, then, Mukasey would never enforce a contempt citation anyway.

70%

"(70% of the federal budget now goes to private corporations to perform National Security State functions)"

__________

70% of the entire federal budget? Or did you mean the intelligence budget?

Original article: Obama responds to McCain ad

Aikido response

LOL!

McBu'ush's latest ad is so predictably McLame. Just counterproductively calls attention to Obama's worldwide popularity. And, anyone with an IQ starting with an integer can parse the difference between a Harvard-educated lawyer of considerable eloquence and the helium-headed Paris and Britney.

Advertising copy rule 101

You NEVER mention your competition's product by name/image in your own ads. These clowns are clueless. It's not gonna add anything new for the mouth-breathing Obama haters, nor garner any converts, and it'll just piss off intelligent independents and more intensely motivate Obama supporters.

i sent the McCain peeps an email saying "keep it up, by all means."

That model is long-dead, replaced by a vertically integrated infotainment corporate oligarchy.

Notwithstanding they only needed 4 of 6 on the jury

they still couldn't get a conviction on the more serious count of "conspiracy."

But, they'd already said they aren't gonna release anyone acquitted in any event. So, these are simply pointless show trials.

Original article: What's next for Edwards?

What's next for Obama?

What people do in their private lives is of no concern to me, but, as a political matter, there had better not be any lurking extramarital dirt on Obama. Although, that could resurrect Hillary, 'eh?

Original article: What's next for Edwards?

Two weeks from today

Friday bad news dump includes Barack's newly outed alleged actual "Baby Mama." Hillary subsequently arises, Phoenix-like in Denver to reclaim her rightful throne.

Nahhh-h-h-h-hhh...

Friday, August 8, 2008 03:01 PM

Obama,

You better be squeaky clean, bro'.

Friday, August 8, 2008 03:11 PM

For the record,

I agree with all the commenters on this topic across the past few war room articles that the whole thing reflects a crazed, juvie misplacement of priorities. We have an administration comprising a huge conspiracy to commit war crimes while turning our nation into a panoptic police state (click my name link if you wanna check out my work in progress n the latter point). But, we fixate on sex stuff.

Depressing.

Friday, August 8, 2008 03:14 PM

@Spectrum Rider

No, McBu'ush can claim no mileage on this. Given his sorry marital record, he'll want to stay way away from it and let the MSM take care of things.

Meanwhile, WWIII may be erupting, not in friggin' Iran, but in Georgia. McBu'ush will call for a surge into Atlanta, I guess.

Scenario: Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Bad News Dump Day includes breathless breaking story about Obama's own extramarital affair. Game, Set, and Match. Hillary arises Phoenix-like to ascend to Her Rightful Throne.

I guess we'll soon know. Nothing surprises me anymore. This would not.

Dude had better be clean.

Actually, John McCain has the quote of the day

"In the 21st century nations don't invade other nations."

Priceless.

One week from tomorrow

Bad News Dump Day...

We are interrupted by the screamingly breathless Fair and Balanced Breaking News alleging Obama's extramarital affair.

Hillary subsequently arises in Denver, Phoenix-like, to ascend to Her Rightful Throne.

Jus' sayin'...

Wouldn't matter were it not true. Denials would...well, we have the recent spectacle of Edwards' emphatic denials.

Hell, Jerome Corsi could pay for someone to step forward with an irresistible lie.

So, Glenn,

Who's your VP recommendation?

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 02:11 PM

@tiberius

The Taliban would kick the clueless McBu'ush's ass all the way past the Gates of Hell.

Original article: One devastating home movie

Just a terrible, probably preventable tragedy

My wife was Director of Quality for the Environmental Division of The Shaw Group at the time. She and her staff spent the entire fall of 2005 in southern Louisiana working 16-20 hours a days, 7 days a week on emergency response/cleanup work (they are the contractor that pumped NOLA out after the storm). I think I saw her all of 4 days all fall 'til mid-December (we live in Vegas). She was right in the thick of unbelievable misery.

But, she got to come back to our comfy life.

I just noted this story and film on my Vegas music blog (click my name).

Last night I watched the PBS show "The Man Who Knew." See

www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/orleans/vanheerden.html

Depressing, all of it.

Mark Penn

"Another point of tension, sources say, is that the Obama campaign is aware that Mark Penn is advising Bill Clinton on the speech. Obama's campaign doesn't like Mark Penn."

_____

Duh. Read the article in the current Atlantic Monthly about the demise of the HRC campaign. Two words -- Mark Penn.

Monday, August 25, 2008 09:42 AM

@FilthyHarry

I hear ya bro'. That is in fact is the overall gist of the Atlantic piece, yes. She had the responsibility to step on Penn's airhose, and did not.

Monday, August 25, 2008 09:44 AM

Excellent

Pay it forward. I just did.
