Especially for you, a_ignatius

"Should interrogation techniques that some consider torture, such as waterboarding, be a legal option?"

"I think it's really important for the United States makes it absolutely clear that as a matter of policy we do not condone or conduct torture. I think that has to be our value because that gives us a lot of moral authority which we have lost, unfortunately.

We also have to be smarter about how we interrogate. There's a lot of evidence that you don't get accurate, good information from extreme measures. In fact, you get it by developing some kind of system that can really get people to feel that they need to give you that information. That's what we did during World War II. That's what we have done in previous times.

So, I think for both the moral and values reason and because of the lack of effectiveness that a lot of these so-called techniques have, we need to be very clear that we do not conduct torture."

From and interview with Clinton: The View, Oct. 15, 2007

Friday, February 8, 2008 02:59 PM

Bravo!

Clinton has got guts of steel and people will see that, interview or debate. Clinton is fairly blooded in the fight at this point so it should be an interesting interview. Probably the most people Faux News will ever have watching.

It's clear why Obama doesn't want to do this. Opposed to the high flying rhetoric of his speeches, debates are clearly Obama's weak point and it's often that he stumbles on the issues without knowing what to say once he is pushed into to unfamiliar territory. When he feels intimidated, he stutters. He clearly doesn't want people to be more aware of that right before the next primaries. The problem with this is, if he gets the nomination, McCain might be able to strip him down in a debate because of that.

burlydee

Huh? What petty insult? Not in this thread.

And burlydee, there is such a thing as free speech and I do believe it exists even here.

burlydee

Me thinks you jest. In the same breath as complaining about personal insults, you wanted to know if "Cynthera45" had something to do with her/his IQ? Now THAT is petty.

Hmmmmm...you're free to dish it out but anyone who insults you is being unfair.

I think you need to grow up, burlydee. This isn't kindergarten anymore.

Oh, Please!

All of those numbers are statistically insignificant in any lead he might have. One or two percentage points that average out to nothing across the spread of those polls. To even claim that based on that is absurd mathematically and anyone who knows statistics can point that out. I'm surprised their trying to actually put any weight into this claim with this. As a matter of fact, they seem to indicate that Clinton has as much a possibility of beating McCain as he does.

Majorajam

Wow, Majorajam, what are you? An attack dog? People do have a right to disagree here, and I don't recall AKAsmith saying anything disrespectful, so why don't you chill?

AKA Smith

Oh, don't stop them!!!! They're shooting themselves in the ass here with their stupid comments. It's making me laugh.

@AKASmith

You know, you're pretty damn well read. I have admired a lot of Hispanic writers but haven't read at all what you have or that much. But I'm writing those down.

Ah yes, Hispanics that Support Clinton

MUST be racist, too. That's the only explanation. Can't be Clinton herself. Clinton CONNECT with a minority group better than Obama? God forbid.

Original article: Hey, skinny bitch!

Best for Diabetes

Actually, the two BEST diets for diabetes according to research is either low fat low carb diet or a low fat vegan diet. You can find the information at diabeteshealth.com or diabetes.org.

I think that says something.

Original article: McCain attacks Obama again

Ah, yes, THE Specifics...What Obama DOESN'T say

The Big difference between Clinton and Obama that Obama is always going on about and that Obama supporters LOVE to say is that he will ABSOLUTELY, NO IF's AND NO BUTs, end the war and bring troops home in 16 months....UNLESS (from Obama's website):

"He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda."

Gee, like al Qaeda's going to pack up and leave any time soon...

Wow!! BIG DIFFERENCE between him and Clinton on this issue!! She at least says that upfront and doesn't make any promises about Iraq that she can't keep.

Always a GOOD thing to read the fine print.

Whoops, Obama...

No subtext here, it's blatant! Sorry, that's sexist. God forbid Clinton be related to as another candidate. Nope, just another one of those females feeling down and lashing out. Just can't take them seriously.
