Bullshit!
If it were Obama who had one either one of those states, this would be a done deal. It would be of course those delegates get seated or it would be seen as not being fully representative or, for that matter, FAIR!
But as it's Clinton, well obviously she's just being selfish.
But more than that, what about those 900,000 people in both Michigan and Florida that voted for her. Are they part of the United States....or not?! Again, if were Obama who had that many people who voted for him, you would howling another tune!
Republicans really want to shoot their ass off, don't they.
Limbaugh's a has been.
"Obama likened Clinton's health care mandate proposal to eliminating homelessness by requiring everyone buy a house."
Cute statement, but stupid. Which is indeed "unscrupulous demagoguery" at it's worst. Let's make everyone afraid, very afraid. Appeals to the deepest fears...
Krugman has the facts, figures and statistics to back up what he says, which is more than the pandering TNR ever does. He's the voice of reason in a desert of illusive fear mongering that Obama tries to pull over people's eyes. Obama progressive? Obama tries to pull the same trick Republicans do which is vote for a Democrat and it'll be money out of your pocket (and the healthcare industry's). And that's how we got to where we are at now: Ill-funded healthcare = poor healthcare.
Clinton NOT a progressive? Blow me. Some people don't know the meaning of the word.
Me thinks both of you like to split hairs. Speaking of which, using Occam's Razor for that or otherwise known as, all other things being equal, Clinton's far enough left for the right and for most (I said "most") folks to literally fall off the edge.
Obama on the other hand, wants his cake and eat it too, when it comes to appealing to the right. So he's willing to reach in whatever direction suits him depending upon where he is at the moment (Like Idaho and gun's all around for everyone!, being in Nuclear Industry's pocket and such and ALL THAT).
Oh, by the way, KCM, maybe you missed Clinton's rather involved discussion with Letterman last night about campaign financing reform...maybe you should be listening more carefully before you jump next time.
But you both go ahead and split those fine hairs. Have fun.
Ah yes, The Nation. Another Obama leaning, er flat out Obama worshiping and Hillary Hating rag. Oh yeah, their very objective. As is any biography of anyone who would term Clinton a "Empress Livia"... Please.
You know, when you can quote an "unbiased" reference, and I do mean "unbiased" as in fair reporting of BOTH sides, then I'll listen.
For now, it's off to the races...to vote for that goddamn uppity woman, how dare she get in Obama's way!!!!! I mean really! Who the hell does she think she is? Someone running for President?
It's important judge these pieces in the time they were written. The majority of people everywhere were immersed in severe prejudice that was across the board taken for granted. Even among jews themselves. There were very, very few people who didn't think and say things that would just shock and be unacceptable to most of us off now. I do believe there are other works by other authors of the same time period that show this.
Does it excuse it, no. But we should use it to understand why the holocaust came into to being with out too much more than of a blink of eye by the rest of western civilization until it was too late. Némirovsky's writings are really a statement about how the world was. All our pretty TV shows and movies of that time period where people don't say these things that she says in her books are just repainting the past so we can forget and redeem our illusions of ourselves.
I am sure Némirovsky felt her sin keenly in the last moments of her life. It's a sin the majority of people shared at that time in history.
Snap you slithering jaws and tell us all about how high and mighty you all are. So progressive and liberal and so inspiring in your rhetoric. Makes an American feel proud!
Snap and jape your promise of a new land, gnashing your teeth to bite with all that so-called dignity of the everyman you so proudly say your and your man are about. How obvious you are so fair and fine. We should all aspire to reach the depths of your level.
Pull hard little doggies on your chains of contempt pretending it's freedom in disguise. You are all such models of distinction and character to the rest of us.
May you each be recipients of your own particular special tribute that you hand out so with out much ado to the morals you profess.
By the way, I just gave Clinton some of my money as did a bunch of other people.
So, keep snapping little Obamamite Dogs...you're going to need that talent in the future.
