Like YOU really give a shit about all those mescans! Ha Ha, that made me laugh.
You know what's even funnier? All the griping and mystification over as to why Hillary won here and so many people can't see the trees for the forest in all of this. Well, I can tell you why Hillary won. And I think Joan gets it.
Just ask any woman over 45 who remembers what life was like for women 30 years ago and what women have had to struggle for to get to just this spot in history. And who look at other countries and see women suffering still under the oppression of patriarchal systems (ooooh, I can see steam coming out from your ears, Brightstar).
See, women under 45 don't get this because they really don't know what it means to be confined and excluded and defined by society to the degree that they were. But older women remember... And really know what an accomplishment it is for a woman to be running for president. Something you and a lot of other men and young people will NEVER get. They also know what it signals as far as REAL change is concerned.
See, Obama might be black but he's still a...man. In addition, women over 45 have the hard won experience in KNOWING the emptiness of a man with promising platitudes and the "charm". They've seen all that before...and they know better (wow, I think your head is exploding, Brightstar).
Yes, Hillary's not as inspiring as Obama. She can't deliver the oratory that he can. But neither can any other candidate for that matter. Obama pretty much channels MLK to a tee. And that means something to people. But I think that "inspiring" and soothing tones only go so far and then their hypnotic effect wears off. And women over 45 have woken up.
I think also those women over 45 empathize with Hillary in what it means to have to walk that tightrope of expectations of not being too cold and yet warm enough, blah, blah, blah that NO man is judged by. And all the pundit and MLM press have finally pissed them off with their bigotry and hypocrisy. And you know, Brightstar, what a pissed off woman can do, don't you?
And furthermore, Hillary's a woman and a Democrat...a hell of a combination. And this, Brightstar, is why Hillary will win.
Um, Brightstar, I think you can put the pieces back together...if you're careful.
You know, Ms Kissling, it's "feminists" like you, who really aren't feminists, except in their own arrogant dreams, who I simply hate. It's "feminists" like you who, because a woman has to do what she has to do, feel the need in your oh so superior purist bullshit way to criticize. And it's feminists like you that really keep a lot of women afraid from doing something, oh, like running for office. But you can't see that.
Hillary Clinton has had NO choice but to run like a man. Running like a woman would have had her left behind a long time ago. Do you think anyone would have taken her seriously if she hadn't. But you too blinded being so high up on your high horse that can't even comprehend that! Can you even begin to imagine what it would take for a woman to do what Hillary Clinton has set out to do? The bullshit she has had to put up with? The slime that has been thrown at her? Especially from the likes of you. Considering how she has been treated it's amazing she has actually kept going. But you don't bother to see that do you?
And do you really think her talking about women's programs would get her taken seriously, especially as being a woman candidate is being treated as such a joke? The MSM and other candidates would have been all over those "soft" issues and called her biased. But you WON'T see that.
Yeah, you go on about how this was such a hard decision for you not to support Hillary. That's a bunch of shit. It's quite obvious you made up your superior mind a long time ago. You're what I call a arm-chair feminist. You have no idea what's it like on the front lines for every day women. Because you've never bothered to look.
And the thing that gets me, you can't even see that you're caught up in the la la land rhetoric of the male candidates. Going on about Hillary doesn't inspire in her speeches. You know, Hillary up there doing the best she can, as a woman and as a human being is good enough for me. Good God, her simply being there inspires me more than enough. But your superiority you can't see that either, can you?
You're no different from conservative women who vote with their eyes closed to any real possibilities for women because it's not in the purist Bible or the conservative view point. As a matter of fact, you're worse! You throw the baby out with the bathwater and in fact are willing to throw a wrench in the progress of women's rights because Hillary doesn't quite fit your idea of what a woman candidate should be.
I'm sorry, Ms. Kissling, but you're blind. And furthermore, you are a coward.
