Please!

These people are angry alright. But this has nothing to do with health care reform, "death" panels or even socialism and EVERYONE knows it. I've heard that all you have to do is stand around outside one of these town halls to hear the real reason, Obama's black. Obama's black, Obama's black, Obama's is a ######.

Does anyone really think that if Obama were a white man there would be half the fuss there is? Get real! These people lost "their" country, dog whistle for Oh My God, my country is no longer controlled by whites only!

Obama's a Nazi, dog whistle for Oh My God, my country is no longer controlled by whites only!

"Death Panels", Oh My God, my country is no longer controlled by whites only.

Socialism, Oh My God, my country is no longer controlled by whites only.

Yeah, their angry alright.

Whoopsie!

I'm sure Limbaugh and Palin followers swamped his phone and email with death threats about his debunking their "lies" of death panels.

Furthermore, how dare he actually add an amendment that helps people! My God! Helping "people", can you believe it? Why that's socialism!

It's All About Me, Me, Me! And other Republican Values.

You have to think about what this symbolizes. If it's protection, what's he protecting himself from? The free speech of liberals? Don't disagree with me or I'll shoot you.

The need for a gun suggests one wants to instill fear in others or get some serious attention.

Man, if you have to wear a gun to get the respect of other people or their attention, you have got some serious issues.

@squaresville

How funny! The New York Times/CBS Poll of 1050 respondents, done 7/24 to 28/09:

Would you favor or oppose the government offering everyone a government administered health insurance plan — something like the Medicare coverage that people 65 and older get

— that would compete with private health insurance plans?

Favor: 66%

Oppose: 27%

Don't know: 7%

Sorry, but Rasmussen has one of the worst reputations for polling and for skewing to a conservative viewpoint.

And it was fairly divided among dems, repubs and independents. Sorry, but the Republicans have lost the independent vote.

And the Republican's reputation has gone to hell with only a 28% approval rate. Yikes!

Where IS the Protest?

I simply do not get it. Why aren't we marching in the streets for health care? I've seen minimal notice of marches that have happened but no preplanning of any in different areas. I've also seen the websites for a march in Washington D.C. Well, most people cannot afford to go to Washington D.C. We need them locally in big cities in each state.

This is just fricking crazy! All the liberal organizations I get email from, I NEVER hear anything about this. Or I get an email AFTER THE FACT! AFTER THE TINY LITTLE MARCH HAS HAPPENED. No wonder it was the turnout was small, no one knew about it to be able to show up. The ones I have written say "oh, we're now planning this other meeting to talk about it. blah, blah, blah. The time for talk is OVER! And no media outlet is going to see a stupid meeting. WE NEED TO BE MARCHING IN THE FUCKING STREETS! Not just meeting with each other or writing posts to echo chamber websites pretending that our stupids posts or just complaining to each other is doing anything for real.

God Damn, people are dying here! And the Republicans are winning in this area by organizing people and getting them out there. We need to be shouting louder then they do in the streets!

Anybody with any real organization who is actually doing exactly this, please post.

My Country!

Actually,

It's the "me-first, screw-everyone else, my guns, my money, my religion, my marriage, my taxes, MINE, MINE, MINE, ALL MINE, and my health care and none for you!" crowd.

Pure unadulterated selfishness. Period.

One Good Thing?

May all this crap cost the Republicans dearly!

The Smell of Desperation

What if the American people find out just how badly they have been screwed by the Republicans with Health Care, our financial system, etc.?

The Repugs are sweating bullets. They are at an all time low and they know it.

The problem is that the majority of Americans are undereducated, under read, overworked, use the worst of Christianity for an excuse not to think through any real morals, watch TV for their news, and easily swayed by polarization by the media and have been socially engineered to be the slaves of Corporate America (i.e., Republicans and their cronies).

"Do they charge 50-year-olds with diabetes and hypertension through the nose for crappy coverage?"

Hey, I got some private health insurance for ya that will do just that!

I agree with doc5467

I think it was stupid all around. This could backfire in that conservatives watching will just feel that Shuster never gave her a chance to talk and were just making fun of her. That's what it seemed like.

Taitz should have been interviewed by someone more skilled to bringing out the stupidity of this woman's beliefs without making anyone feel sorry for her.

There is a whole issue of who gave her the "Kenyan" birth certificate that she said was an anonymous person. He could have nailed her on this big time. Without a "chain-of-custody" on legal documents, they're usually considered worthless in court. If she's a true lawyer, she would know that.

Actually,

I thought Joan's reaction was like a lot of women were and often still are, in shock, confused because this is her fiancé and trying to pretend it didn't happen.
