Original article: Bush to Israel: Nothing

Could It Be?

Could it be that the rest of the workd has figured out that Bush goes to Texas every summer and that not even an Act of God (Katrina) gets him to leave there? No wonder all the crazy stuff happens then.

Thank You Keith

I won't pretend to be eloquent. I'll simply say thank you for that commentary.

My View

I am a registered Independent. I have previously been registered as a Democrat (twice) and a Republican. I am desperately looking for someone who cares about the middle and not the polar extremes.

I watched last night's debate and was not impressed by Senator Clinton. In my opinion she evaded questions and acted as if she is already the nominee and spoke accordingly. Additionally, I was disappointed that she failed to address her husband's instructions to archivists to withhold documents concerning her until 2012. I wonder why she feels the need to hide things and wants us to trust her.

Joe Biden seems to be closest to my position, with Barak Obama a close second. They both appeal to me for different reasons: Biden because he has a wealth of knowledge and doesn't feel as if he needs to "dumb-down" his responses and trusts the America people to understand him, and Obama because he seems to respect all peoples and clearly prefers thoughtful discussion as opposed to saber rattling. They both come across as honest and caring about America. Senator Clinton, while caring about America, appears to be more concerned with how she is perceived rather then being honest and forthright in expounding her beliefs.

Disappointing To Say The Least

I believe that Senators Feinstein and Schumer are fundementally wrong in supporting the nomination of Judge Mukasey under the applicable circumstances. While they may not get a better candidate from Mr. Bush, that is not really the issue for them to decide. The issue for them is whether Jusge Mukasey should be confirmed as Attorney General.

If Mr. Bush was fully commiteed to this candidate he should allow Judge Mukasey to be fully briefed on the program and then allow Judge Mukasey to make an informed decision on the waterboarding issue. That makes the problem clearly one within the ability of Mr. Bush to at least try and resolve and provides some political protection to Senators Feinstein and Schumer. However, voting to confirm Judge Mukasey, based on the current record and Mr. Bush's well known record, is tantamount to an endorsement of torture.

It's Sad, But I Don't Trust People Who Flaunt Religion

I was raised as a Catholic and left because of a priest telling me that the Commandment about Honoring My Father and Mother trumped me be physically abused (beaten). I figured that any God who condoned children being beaten was not a God that I wished in my life.

I tried being Protestant, but got tired of what I perceived as hypocrisy by successful businessmen having questionable ethics in their daily lives, but donating a lot of money to the church and showing up once a week and that supposedly kept them in good standing with God. To me God is more of a concept in which we live daily lives as good people and don't need a formal church to intervene to make our lives more explainable to anyone perhaps waiting to judge us when we pass on from this life.

In my mind George W. Bush is a great example of someone who used religion to manipulate how he was perceived by others and worked franticly to somehow make himself more attractive to people because of religion. In short, he played them all.

In my world one does not need to tell me of one's great deeds, just simply be an honorable person in how you deal with others. George W. Bush repeatedly failed that test with me.

Truth and Consequences

The citizens of Michigan and Florida who voted in the Democratic primaries should be upset with their own party officials for getting them into this mess. That said, it was known well before those elections that they would not count and therefore Mr. Obama chose to use his time more productively then spending it in two states where the national Democratic Party said the results would not count toward convention ballots? Mrs. Clinton also knew this, but chose to campaign to some extent anyway. So now, after the fact, why should Mr. Obama be potentially penalized for respecting the rules and not spending time where he had been assured that the election procedure would not result in any delegates to be seated at the election?

Moving forward, there is a solution to this situation in the future. That is one date for a national primary. Let everyone vote at the same time and on the same set of factors, rather than having the perception that some people's votes (New Hampshire and Iowa) are more important or cherished then other people's votes.

Original article: The "plagiarism" problem

Signs of the Times

If accusing someone of plagiarism, regardless of the fact that he had permission to use the phrase, is the best that Mrs. Clinton can do then she needs to step aside on the basis that she is hurting the Democratic Party. Her win at all costs campaign is not helping her with Independants and is once again turning people off to out political system.

If she really wants to win, then why not run on good ideas rather than seeing how much she can trash other candidates?

Whoops!

I have read elsewhere that he is allegedly a client.

Now will someone tell me how Crusader Rabbit has been a prosecutor of some of the largest cases around as New York's Attorney General, is elected Governor, and now it comes out he is invloved in a prostitution ring?

No.....

It isn't just you. I was about to post the same basic thought.

My Guess Is.......

... Joe Lieberman.

Why?

1. He is, and has been, all over McCain;

2. McCain can say he is reaching across party lines;

3. Conservatives will, in the end, decide he is the lesser of two evils; and,

4. McCain doesn't stand too much of a chance if he plays it in a traditional manner.
