I vote for option 2...

ram it down their throats.

There is no way Collins, Snowe and Specter all vote down a sensible climate change bill.

Original article: PoehlerWatch

There's plent of Poehler

in the three seasons of the former Comedy Central series Upright Citizens Brigade.

Of course, it makes you feel bad because nothing she'd done since comes close (well, maybe not the Palin rap).

Point #2

My brain just shrunk.

Yesterday, I read Steve Benen's wonderful blog on washingtonmonthly.com in which he featured a puerile piece of politicking as Sen. Thune from N. Dakota put on a *brilliant* presentation on the Senate floor in which he demostrated how high $1 trillion worth of $100 bills would reach if stacked on top of each other or how many times they'd wrap around the world if placed end to end.

And then what do I see as I sit down to lunch on CNN Newsroom? The useless Frederika Whitfield parroting those same GOP talking points about how high the stimulus package would reach if we stacked those Benjamins on top of each other.

O Liberal Bias, Where Art Thou???

Screw it

I'd move to CT and vote for a warmed-over corpse just to see Lieberman out of office.

Monday, February 9, 2009 08:24 AM

Don't look now....

but Bud Selig just took home $17 million dollars last year. There's your scapegoat.

Monday, February 9, 2009 01:42 PM

So, according to the Senate

after I go on a killing spree and lie to everyone about it, I can go before a "truth and reconcilliation commission" rather than a judge and jury?

woohoo!

what a joke.

Take a hike, Heath

You're not needed anymore.

You were a mediocre QB, and you're not even meeting THAT standard in the House. Get out of the way.

They call him their "Obama"...

....because he's colored, right? I mean, I can't remember Obama ever pushing for state-sponsored chemical castration.

@libertyaintfree

you're right, it's Michael Steele who is the GOP's Obama. Or is it Palin? Or maybe it's just anyone who isn't a tax-cutting old white dude, because there's like 7 of them.

From your other prescient letters -- Obama will be out by the PA primary; Obama will be done in by Rev Wright -- I can't really put a lot of faith in your miserably-crafted letter.

And remember, as Trey Parker sang, "Freedom costs a buck-oh-five"....

Slumdog ruined it

i am sorry, but it just wasn't that good of a movie. and then we were subjected to every last person who worked on the movie as they won award after award. "jai ho" as best song? are you fucking kidding me? where was springsteen's wrestler song? only three nominees? this is the worst selection for best picture since Crash in 04.

jackman did an adequate job. they need to ditch the hollywood circle-jerk of past winners fellating this year's nominees from the stage....really stupid and self-congratulatory.

and mickey rourke got robbed.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 12:07 PM

Its amazing

that you can be this clueless and still be considered a GOP leading candidate to seriously run for president.

A lame way to address the marijuana issue....

....is to laugh it off as a joke, much like Obama just did. Disappointing.

Decriminalization is not a joke, and until we can address the issue of the war on drugs like adults, we'll be throwing harmless pot smokers in jail and tossing billions out the window, only increasing drug dealers' margins.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 11:51 AM

@mattcliff

as far as recreational drugs go (which, by the way, are all some form of poison or hallucinogen...hence the desired effect) i would say pot is easily the least harmful. maybe that's not "harmless" in your book, but it's damn near close to it. no risks of addiction (mental or physical), no horrible diseases associated with it, and it's as natural as any other plant out there.

who cares

if it is dudes-only? they're (the creators) dudes themselves, right? at no time do they refuse to consider a similar line for women or anything like that.

its clear what the issue is: the clothing is desirable, but the owner is a douchebag. so rather than simply boycott the line, the author wants to force the designers' hand. get a life.

I don't get this

reich has a very insightful blog (robertreich.blogspot.com) and while i don't agree with others posting that he is useless, i don't understand the point of publishing such a short piece that is largely devoid of analysis.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 11:44 AM

we need to give Obama credit

cause if he knew the issue of NOT prosecuting these scumbags (and i'll happily include any Dem that was briefed and said nothing) would blow up and possibly eventually lead to a popular demand for Bush admin charges and trials, he is an even better politician than i thought.

its like LBJ said to MLK et al: i want a civil right bill too....now go out there and make me sign one.

Well done, Salon

this is the most accurately titled column on the whole site!

ask a wingnut, indeed.

interesting that someone so invested in propping up the reeking carcass of the bush administration has zero interest in identifying him/herself.

what was it about single anonymous sources we're supposed to remember? i think it's in my files under "curveball, iraq war liar"

Tuesday, April 28, 2009 09:27 AM

Fuck

Kennedy.

joined the majority AND dissented, eh? way to take a stand.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009 07:36 AM

Lets hope this Specter love-in

doesn't last any longer than November 2010. welcome the new friend with one hand, but prepare a REAL progressive for the primary with the other.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009 03:54 PM

a rose by any other name

still smells like shit.

Friday, May 1, 2009 07:47 AM

just what i was thinking....

where can i go to send this guy some dough?

run sestak....do it.

Monday, May 4, 2009 10:59 AM

what a country!

a racist is about to become the (thankfully) minorty committee chair on the JUDICIARY in this country. awesome.

will the GOP just implode already?

Wednesday, May 6, 2009 08:17 AM

or he could just come out

and say "like your fucking ass off" and it would have been just as accurate.

Luntz is like the nerd who did all the homework for the jocks, but he wasn't even smart enough to extract money or respect from the douchey football players (GOP) he serves. i mean, he has for ross perot. ross. fucking. perot.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009 08:21 AM

that's LIE

your ass off.

apologies.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009 09:19 AM

yawn

GOP betrays long-standing principle of local determination.

what else is new, harry reid get a spine donated to him?
