"Trust" was one of my favorite movies

And as sad as it might be to see this, I'm going to, I consider going to this movie to be the only true tribute I can give her.

Refurbs and rebates

I got a 8gb last week , and when the news about the price cut came down, called Apple immediately. They do have great customer service - no questions, no hoops, they just credited me the difference. I think that if you're really upset about it, no matter when you got the phone, it probably wouldn't hurt to call and see what you can get, even if it's just the opportunity to complain really, really loudly.

I mean, it is a bit of a shock that the price would go down so quickly, and I understand how early buyers would be upset, because I was pretty upset myself. But you know, we wanted the thing, and we wanted it NOW, even though we all knew that there would be a better version down the road. Everyone who bought the phone on June 29th has had two months with it, and although I wouldn't say that you "got your $200 worth" you and I both know there isn't a chance in hell you would have waited two months to get this phone. It's the price you paid. Literally.

Apple customer service - 1-800-676-2775

Re: It's the Marketing

I totally agree - This was definitely a bad PR move on Apple's part, because it obviously made a lot of their loyal customers feel shafted. But, I did call Apple this morning, and they immediately issued me a credit for the difference, no problem. If you're that upset, stop whining and CALL THEM - 1-800-676-2775.

Also, another thing I have to agree with is the quality of the phone. I, too, run an online business, and the iphone just rocks as an alternative to carrying my powerbook around everywhere.

Apple - 1-800-676-2775, promt 3, I believe. Apple wants to make you feel better about it, so just let them, already.

Like he wouldn't have said that about anyone else

who reacted that way to that question, male or female. Edwards is right - we DO need a commander-in-chief with strength and resolve, presidential campaigns ARE a tough business, but being president of the United States is even tougher. Duh.

Rebecca's complaint is basically that he picked on her because she's a girl. But I had the same reaction he did when I saw the clip, which was "suck it up, Princess", And I'm a girl. Does that make me an Orc, too?

It's like how the media keeps talking about how Obama never makes race an issue, even though he's, you know, black. Did you know he was black? But he never talks about being black. Will black people vote for him since he never talks about being black? Well, he doesn't have to, sweetheart, because you do it all.the.TIME.

This is only a boy vs. girl issue because you're making it one, Rebecca. Edwards beat up on her during the debate? Did you see the repubs attack Romney during their turn? In comparison, Edwards practically licked her up one side and down the other like a lost kitten. He complimented her on her outfit, Becky, isn't that enough for you?

I'm still with Edwards, and I can't wait to vote for him on February 5th. Suck it up, Princess.

@AKA Smith

"Where is your evidence that tears mean someone lacks strength and resolve? You don't have any."

Actually, it wasn't so much the tears - whether or not there were any, at any rate - it was the self-involved, self-pitying, poor me, "Why doesn't anyone understand I'm just trying to help the countrrryyyy!!!" Who's fault is it that no one is getting that, Hillary, hmm? If anyone is playing the gender card, it's her. "Feel sorry for me!!!" I would have told her to suck it up regardless. Better response to the question - "Why do I do it? Because I have to, there's no alternative. Because I feel obligated to lead this country in a better direction, and I wake up every day with that in mind. This country has given me so much, and I want to return the favor." Snap!

"Also, the posts attacking Clinton saying to effect: You wanted to play with the big boys, now suck it up, are sexist."

- How?? How is this sexist?? If she can't stand the heat...the way OTHER CANDIDATES ARE...then she needs to get out the kitchen. Like, go back to DC and author some legislation, Hillary. For once.

It is well known that women tear up more than men. I actually read that there are hormone-related biological reasons why this is.

- Oh, so you're saying that she should be judged by different standards because she's a woman? Huh. That's kind of sexist, isn't it? No? Well, I guess you would know.

"If this is true, should it mean that ALL women should be automatically disqualifed to be commander-in-chief based upon the possibility that that they might cry?"

- No, just the ones that whine about tough they've got it because they're so misunderstood and being treated unfairly. Uh, yeah, welcome to a presidential campaign. She, of all people, should know that. What with all her "experience" and all.

Is it February 5th, yet?

This is sooo STUPID!

Will white people vote for Obama? Uh, they did, in droves, in lily-white Iowa and lily-white New Hampshire. And in Nevada. And, most likely, whether he wins or not, in South Carolina. No Democrat is going to stay home because Obama is the head of the ticket.

The question isn't whether the Dems will vote for him if he's the nominee, it's how many Republicans are going to vote against him if he's the nominee. Betcha probably not as many as if Hillary was, that's for sure.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 06:40 PM

Uh, the real story would be all the white males

...that voted for him, and not for Hillary. Like, overwhelmingly. So, can we please stop saying that white people won't vote for him? Please?
