[Read the article: "Sopranos" wrap-up: Hide-and-seek]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Going to ground" is not a mob term. It really is just an expression. To me it would be more likely to indicate that Sil was talking to the FBI than anyone else, maybe because I'm used to hearing it on cop shows.
Phil left town before the war actually started - remove the king from the board and you can't be checkmated - because he started the war and he's a smart guy. Again, no involvement with Silvio necessary.

Absolutely don't contact her
[Read the article: We had a secret online affair ... and then he killed himself]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It seems to me that you feel you may be part of the cause at some level. The relationship changed you profoundly, for the better it seems, and maybe you think it changed him for the worse. I've met a few people online, and I am very close with someone who has almost all of her relationships online, so I have given this subject a lot of thought.
As much as it may hurt to think it, the relationship he had with you was only a symptom of his problems - much as it was only a symptom of the self esteem issues you talked about for you. His "drawing away" from you was the result of the realization that you would actually meet, and destroy the fantasy, not the meeting itself - no matter what you are actually like, you were not the person he created in the course of a long online relationship. And that's the key - online relationships are fantasy, nothing more. The longer they continue without actual physical contact, the more they drift into being purely imaginary constructs.
This guy was not happy. You weren't either. His problem was that he had a family, and therefore limited options on how to address his unhappiness. When the relationship with you ended, he was just as fucked up as before (maybe more due to the passage of time) and left with one less option. So he tried something new. And something else after that. His kinks grew more and more outrageous as the list kept dwindling, trying to find something that would make him feel like he wanted to feel.
Ultimately, he likely killed himself not for any dramatic, ripped from the headlines reasons, but simply because he was sad and saw no hope of ever being happy.
So, you couldn't help him but that wasn't your fault. His wife and all the people he had relationships with after you couldn't help him either. Don't try to help now - it's too late and you would likely do more harm than good.

Something I just thought of
[Read the article: "Sopranos" wrap-up: Hide-and-seek]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Here's Tony, in what has to be the most stressful situation of his life, completely alone with only what he has to know are rank amatuers to help him, and yet he hasn't had an anxiety attack...
Was Tony only looking for attention this whole time? If so, AJ is truly Tony's son.

So what did you expect?
[Read the article: What you missed while watching "Deal or No Deal"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Very well written article, made me smile.
As for the poster who said Ron Paul would be politically castrated 30 seconds after inauguration, I say only if he lets it happen and I don't think he would. Just by acting like what he is, a guy really doesn't give a shit about party politics, he could destroy every member of Congress that doesn't have our best interests at heart. Stand up and say exactly why public schools are the responsibility of the States, or campaign finance reform is needed if we are ever going to have a truly representative government again, or whatever it is he is trying to do, and then challenge his opponents to actually answer questions in a public forum. He wouldn't have to play the game by their rules, which would make him an invaluable asset for the citizens to realize the change we so desperately need.
Honest to God public debate! Which brings up another point, these stupid televised "debates". Get rid of the media types as moderators and bring in people who know how to run a debate - and put them in charge. Make the participants actually answer the fucking questions, call them on it if they don't, and dismiss them if they refuse. Turn off their microphones if they launch into ad hominum attacks and straw man arguments. Letting the "debaters" decide what to talk about denies us the opportunity to see what they really think, or if they think at all. A high school teacher could do a much better job of running one of these things than any talking head.
Huckabee's answer was a good one. An honest one. Every single candidate claims to be either a Christian or a Mormon. They all either believe in creation or they lie every Sunday. Huckabee at least acknowledges that God might have created a universe in which evolution is a big component, which is more than a lot of creationists are capable of.
Using tactical nukes against Iranian nuclear capability is a scary thought, but a realistic one. It would likely be our only option if Iran becomes an imminent threat, since we have wasted all of our military, political, and financial capital on the misbegotten war with Iraq. Actually mentioning this was probably a trial balloon to test public sentiment since Hunter has almost no chance of winning.
It would be nice to hear someone address the gays in the military issue by saying that first of all, our infantry was created by an acknowledged homosexual French colonel, second of all we already have gays serving bravely and well in all branches of the service, and finally, that they have spoken at length with people at all levels of the military and that they have formed opinion X. Again, answer the fucking question.
We need to stop letting the inmates run the asylum.
