I feel...

that the more you get to know people, the weirder they are. Usually weird in a good way.

It takes a lot of effort to get to know people to such a degree that you actually begin to learn things about them. But 9 times out of 10 it is completely worth it. Very few people surprise me by being totally normal or dull.

My birthday almost always falls right around Labor Day weekend, which doesn't really affect my presents per se, but when I was a kid all my friends were always out of town. Not to mention my birthday was almost always accompanied by the first day of school! That one haunts me even now in college. It's hard to organize a friendly get-together for yourself when all your friends are panicking about moving in. There are a lot of potentially lame birthday dates out there....
