Original article: The New Republic syndrome

They will continue calling us a shrill fringe movement until...

...we show them how much our votes matter - then we will an important part of their base that they have to woo.

The only thing that is comforting to me is that GG is fighting the good fight for those of us who actually give a damn about the rule of law and constitutional protections. Shame on TNR.

Don't forget to keep supporting...

I'm broke, but I donated $10. Money is all these people care about, so we all need to put our money where our mouth is.

I don't understand this whole white people thinking black women are angry thing

I know those idiots on Faux News talked about how many white americans think of black women as "angry" but I don't understand where that comes from. White people who have female black friends wouldn't think that way because they'd have personal interactions with black women to disprove that notion; White people who do not have black friends probably think of Oprah when they think of black women [since she's the most visible black female], and she's not angry at all.

I just don't get it.

What I wonder about Obama selling out:

Is this something he's doing because he believes it's necessary to win the election? If that's the case then that shows he's unprincipled and and not the new politician he presents himself as, but it's better than the alternative. On the other hand, this could be a hint at his presidency to come. Will he continue to sell the American people out and call it a great "win" for the democrats?

Now, of course he is much better than McCain. At least he'll appoint Supreme Court Justices that will be more likely to overturn any such terrible laws that he would pass. But, I was really looking forward to a truly progressive agenda and those hopes are quickly dwindling.

Can we stay on track here...

...rather than swatting at each other like little girls over an issue that basically comes down to "yeah, you might be against the FISA bill, but I don't think you're against it enough!" Can we please come together against those who actually have real POWER, and try to stop them. This sort of in-fighting is not helpful, and it makes me really sad that two of my favorite commentators are squabbling so. This sort of thing is what keeps liberals from enacting real change.
