  • damage millions?????

[Read the article: No more whining excuses]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"damaged millions"? are you serious? Have we become so hypersensitive that name calling by strangers about strangers is "damaging"? The local paper said that this wasn't the first time the Rutgers coach had faced adversity. Adversity? What Imus said was in poor taste and judgment, but I hardly think he has the power to "damage millions" with his words. Katrina was adversity, Katrina damaged hundreds of thousands - maybe a million. Let's keep this whole thing in perspective.

  • Coupla things

[Read the article: Sex, drugs and my 15-year-old]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

#1 - what about at the very least teaching your child to not take random drugs from strangers. Who knew what was in that joint?

#2 - you might also want to teach your son that by purchasing marajuana you are contributing to the scourge of our inner citites and really no better than the dealer on the street. So enjoy your weed, but remember your culpability when you see the kids shot on the evening news.

  • Since When?

[Read the article: Child porn or edgy art?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

These photographs would barely be noticed anywhere in Europe - they're hardly cutting-edge art. More young model skin is on display on your average Parisian street advertisement. So, other than obscure religious-conservative-right argments, where exactly is the controversy?

Since when is Europe the arbiter of social mores for America. If I wanted a European lifestyle, I'd live in Europe.

BTW - I'm not even remotely religious, but these pictures are vulgar! They display everything wrong with fashion and apparently, Europe as well. I don't want my daughter or son exposed to this child porn/eating disorder "snuff" photography. I don't want the fashion industry telling my daughter that who she is isn't good enough if she weighs over 115. I dont' want my son thinking that that is what women are supposed to look like and be valued for. I don't want the plastic skeleton industry to fail because there are so many real-life studies walking the streets of NYC. What I really don't understand is women pimping other women to a system that feeds into this whole beauty as definion of self plague. Take one look at Janice Dickenson and you will see that "fashion" does nothing good for young or old women!

  • 2,600 People died in the Congo alone today

[Read the article: Remembering Heath Ledger]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

2,600 People died in the Congo alone today - guess they weren't "talented" enough to count on the front page.

  • When Ted Kennedy thinks your behavior is bad! Lookout!

[Read the article: Et tu, Teddy?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Jeeze, when Ted Kennedy is judinging your behavior, you must really be bad!

  • just sayin

[Read the article: I get grossed out when I hear, "I'm a mom!"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

jeepers, if you are this freaked out about the phrase "I'm a mom" what exactly will you do with all the poop? I'm thinking that maybe you shouldn't have kids.

  • Ditto Juliebird and Pkarc

    [Read the article: Tween bees]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm with you. While squeaky clean for tweens, totally inappropriate for 6 and 7 year olds. What will they expect when they are tweens? The whole rush with our girls especially, is troubling!

  • And if I were 43 inches taller............

[Read the article: Why Hillary Clinton should be winning]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And if I were four inches taller and 30 pounds lighter, I'd be a supermodel. Alas, much like Hillary, I am left to play the cards I've been dealt.

  • I'm amazed

[Read the article: My hip-to-waist ratio is nobody's business but mine]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm amazed that at 55, you are still getting upset about tiny, no pun intended, things like this. You have fewer years left than you have spent. I'd recommend spending less of it obsessing about what others think and say to you about something as meaningless as the size of your waist Scarlett.

  • me too

[Read the article: Why I hate summer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I hate summer AND I hate the beach too! There, that feels better.

  • Fairly hilarious

[Read the article: My fair gangsta]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I thought this show was fairly hilarious. In the episode I caught, the men were caught up in a debate about who would win were there to be a bear vs. a gorilla. Pretty funny stuff.

  • Could I get a list please

[Read the article: The "retarded" renaissance]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Could I get a list please of what words exactly I'm supposed to use these days. Little people - not dwarfs, is it mentally handicapped, mentally challenged, developmentally delayed? Are handicapped people even handicapped anymore or is it physically challenged? I think how you treat people, all people, is significantly more important than these words. The problem with calling a mentally challenged? person retarded is not with the words, but the fact that you are calling them any kind of name to hurt them. We need to spend more time on general kindness and manners and less time on the semantics of language.

  • Tune in

[Read the article: I fell for a younger guy and now my head is spinning]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Tune in to Lifetime television to see how this will end. I feel badly for your kids. They should not have to suffer the consequences or bear the burden of your need to find yourself. Be a parent, be an adult.

  • Lets be a litte more judicious in how we use our bargaining capital!

[Read the article: Stereotype relief, not just pain relief]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Honestly, screeching about any perceived slight is NOT going to make things different for women. Guess what, babies are hard work, caring for them can make your body hurt. Slings ARE a fashion trend - mabye a good one, but a trend nonetheless. Getting upset about things like this makes us look as silly as they think we are and sets us all back. Choose your battle wisely instead of thrashing about at shadows.

  • Woah

[Read the article: Stereotype relief, not just pain relief]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Wow, flyover sure is mad about something. I'm not sure that you need to use obscenities when discussing baby slings. Just because something is practical doesn't mean it can't be a trend. They were not used widely when I had my children in 00 and '02. They became more popular after celebrities started using them. If they weren't a fashion statement they would come in one color. Moms don't cease to be people when they give birth. Women who were into trends before they had kids, will be into trends after. Doesn't make them bad mothers, just trendy ones. Quit freaking out!

  • like shooting fish in a barrel

Why post something just because it makes her look bad?

Ummm........... because it is hilarious, that's why!
