My Dear TRenee

I understand. These things happen in the heat of the moment. People are passionate. If we were not we would be primeval invertabrates flopping around in the muck with our underdeveloped phalanges; please see the evangelical Republican fear mongering, war mongering, control freak, jesus freak insert at Wikipedia. The weirdness is good. It is healthy. My only regret is that the American electorate does not rise in unison and March on that swamp that is Washington D.C. and nudge it back into the muck.

My apologies to Jeb

Jeb is a Democrat. My comments should have been directed to Bernetc...

Let's face it folks. We are all on the same page. What was it that Will Rogers said? "I don't belong to an organized political party, I am a Democrat". Welcome to the big tent.

To my Friend Jeb

You missed my point. Donna Brazile was an inarticulate amateur at 4am election night 2000. That is why she is now part of the occassional panel with George Stephanopolusispoopisis. She was exiled. The Clintons lost because of time and distance. They underestimated the change that took place in eight years time. They never thought that an eight years distance would translate into something akin to 100 years. They are now hopelessly out of touch.

As for the other people you mentioned; they are political hustlers and pimps. They will do anything to remain relevant.

Jebldmm and Planetarylifebeing cute

Donna Brazile had nothing to do with any of this. The Democratic party fathers told her to take a powder. She was Gore's campaign manager in 2000. She was an idiot and remains so to this day. I have no doubt that she will take credit for much come Obama's coronation in 2009. All the failures get relegated to Sunday morning talk shows.

As for my friend Planetarylife, curse more my child. You are right but phrases such as "bullshit" and "the vast majority of the American electorate are too stupid to find their own dicks in the dark" are powerful rhetorical tools that should be applied at the appropriate times. This week we have the Democratic National Convention. And I can't think of a more appropriate time.

We get another swing at it next week.

Pumas in Denver

Just for full disclosure. I was a Hillary Clinton supporter. I was not overly enamored with any particular thing. The difference in policy between her and Barack Obama or John Edwards or Christopher Dodd or Joe Biden was and is minimal. They are all mainstream Democrats. But what she had and still has is an unprecendented resource; a sitting President with a spouse as a former President.

I think that Barack Obama should allow a full roll call. Let Hillary's supporters have their say. Let them have their moment. Let them blow off steam. All this talking head punditry about PUMAs voting for John McCain is hogwash. It is designed to foment entertainment and keep the viewing public tuned into the inane gibberish of the network knuckleheads. In politics, memory is short. Let the circus occur now because once the steam is let out of the kettle the whistling stops. Two weeks from now, after the Republican convention, the PUMAs will realize the danger of another 4 years of Supreme Court nominations, of industry insiders running the EPA and HUD and Education and the VA and FEMA and Homeland Security (Heil) and Interior and Treasury and the rest.

It is going to take a very long time to undo the damage of the past eight years. In most respects we will never return. But now is the time to at least begin that work.

natesmith124 Chicago huh...

I have an Uncle in Palatine and lots of friends in Brookfield. Well I used to, two out of three are dead, but this is an election year. Let's not dwell on the negative. I agree with you, it is the Hawks drooling at going Napoleanic against Putin dressing up like Peter the Great. How many times do we have to go down this road? As for my apocalyptic vision I plead guilty. Sec of State Rice-a supposed expert on Eastern European Soviet/Russian machinations ( I do believe she is a PHD in the field) made her ridiculous comments the other day. The next president of the United States-take your pick Obama or McCain-are cock fighting over who has how many houses-and people wonder why I do not give a shit. Ever since George Carlin died I have been revisiting him on You Tube. He uses the phrases "Go fuck yourself", "fuck you", and "bullshit" alot. I truly hope that Barack Obama is everything that everyone wants him to be. I truly hope that John McCain is the maverick who will ride into Dodge and clean up this mess so we can all go to bed most assuredly that our wives are pure, our daughters are not sucking the balls of Lenny Kravitz wannabees and our sons are researching extra-terrestrial bio-dome capabilities and the psycedelic possibilities of ethanol. But there I go again. I just can't help myself. You take care.

Obama Kerry and Who Cares

Arianna Huggington once called the Democratic field an "embarassment of riches". Fuck Arianna Huffington. I am a life-long Democrat. I once cared. No more. I will vote for Barack Obama for one reason and one reason only; the Supreme Court. Otherwise he is just another bullshit politician. As for all of you waiting for text messages or wringing your hands feverishly over what might happen next all I can offer is that you might consider dousing yourselves with gasoline and setting yourselves on fire. Go fuck yourselves.
