    Again, why does an article like this, engaging, personal, thought provoking, even if I disagreed with some of it, elicit so many fine letters, and everything Joan Walsh writes brings out the worst crap in everyone?

    What's wrong with this picture?

    The reason is Ms Walsh has been a *partisan* writing under the guise of a neutral obrerver. Disingenuous would be a kind word for her positioning of herself. Deceitful would be more blunt. Much of it apparently unconscious, which may be worse because it demonstrates an inability for honest self reflection.

    Thus the intense partisan nature of her letters. See how less that is reflected here.
