[Read the article: Emulating the enemy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Where did Salon find this guy. Absolutely brilliant. Why is the obvious genius? Sam Keen's "The Face of the Enemy" deals with many of these issues also. God where is any originality or real insight among the mainstram? Baaaa. All sheep.
Glenn: Great job. I look forward to more of your work.

Venal Attack
[Read the article: Oprah's ugly secret]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is a venal attack by someone who does not understand nor seems to want to investigate the depth behind the movie and its concepts. As one who has deeply studied and worked with the Law of Attraction for over a decade, I readily admit the foibles and surface manifestations that a quick DVD will produce. Its like trying to encapsulate all of Buddhist philosophy in an hour, especially the concept of a "Plenum Void of Infinite Ppossibilities" (in other words-non theism, no design whatsoever.)
Materialistically oriented people, and this is rampant in journalism, cast a cynical and jaundiced eye toward "new thought" and the idea of multidmemsionality of being and the nature of consciousness. I love Salon, but I have to say there is a particular bias in this magazine against "New Age Metaphysics". There have been many interviews with atheists or Christians or other religions, but Salon seems to seek a "safety zone" where the metaphysical mystical can be toned down or incorporated in a very diluted form.
I have a very bright and deep friend who after watching "The Secret", said the great concern was the materialistic orientation of the film. I gave him some Abraham-Hicks CD's to listen to and he came back raving at the depth ,wisdom, and knowledge of life contained them once one gets past the surface. My own experiences with the Law of Attraction over ten years, using strict observation, is that it is inviolable. The clearer I get the more I have to take responsibility for my thoughts, and behavior. It really is a different animal than our "normal" approach.
Mr. Birkenhead, you have it backward, rather than blaming the victims, the Law of Attraction erases victimhood all together. The issue of Evil in the World is one of the greatest philosophical questions facing humanity and one of the hardest things to do is to move to a non dualistic view of the issue. This does not mean sacrificing our feelings or humanity, or even outrage at times, but becoming more effective in negotiating the very problems we wish to deal with.
I have found that the hardest thing for people to grasp is that NOTHING in the Universe is random and that if one can find the level of insight, the reason for the event becomes clear, even the greatest tragedies. This does not mean to sacrifice our compassion or social responsibility. Kurt Vonnegut wrote in "Slaughterhouse 5" that we are like beings with a helmet on our head, a long tube extending from it in front of us, and a small opening for us to see. This is the extent of our ability perceive the grandeur of the full landscape around us.
Listen to Abraham-Hicks for a while. They address all of the critics issues. Yes we need to go beyond surface presentations. The DVD just is a key for people to enter. But this is not a dilettante stance. "There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy", sir.

Answer to anonymous
[Read the article: Oprah's ugly secret]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Question
"Child dies of starvation or is murdered", How does Law of Attraction explain".
Your question opens up the door of what has been a paradigm shift in understanding human life in relation to the Divine, so there are so many aspects to consider. The first is the reality of reincarnation. The second is that the Soul which incarnates both before incarnation and IN its embodied form has complete control over its destiny. This is the Law of Attraction. Therefore, if a soul is carrying karma from a previous life wherby it needs to balance out traumatic energies given to others, it will engineer a similar experience for itself to deepen because the activation of those vibrations are still present. It may be that the soul (Child) has made an agreement with its family through group karma to provide a lesson and to serve to impact those around it because those group vibrations are still active. The soul's need might be to "get in, get out quickly" for a particular resson. The soul may have a desire to experience the profound effects of poverty as to deepen its understanding of human experience because that vibration is active in its larger field.
These are just a few possible scenarios but all proclaim from a higher vantage point that there is no victimhood. If one posits "God" is love, then a group negotiation such as the Holocaust, will occur to help humanity to observe the effects of its own Evil, or dissociation from its essence, which is love, and to have the opportunity for choice in the larger matter. But even that is too simplistic as each event such as that has a multitude of layers. But it definitely is one aspect in my opinion.
"The mill of God grinds exceedingly slow, but it grinds exceedingly fine."
LIfe is far vaster than we think from our intellectual and sensory view.
I recommend "Testimony of Light" by Helen Greaves, among other books, to shed light on these issues.
As Krishna said, we are immortal, the soul finishing a body like a suit of clothes, moves on to another for its next purpose. Thus nobody really dies and nothing is lost. But our human "forgetting" gives the resonant power of suffering (and earthly joy) great impact. That is part of why we do this.
Kapeesh?

Understatement of the century. One of the reasons we're in Iraq. Great show. Great review. I'm addicted. Hope it stays too.
