  • Why They're So Agressive in Defending this Obvious Crime

[Read the article: Revisionist history on the president's authority]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I've heard a couple of things recently that shed some light on the WH's agressive stance on the illegal wiretapping: 1)they're afraid of impeachment proceedings (which will not become a reality unless they lose control of the House) and 2)they're hoping that the illegal wiretapping is this mid-term election's equivalent of 2002's bogus Department of Homeland Security debate. These bastards are "stratergizing" that they can make the Dems look weak on defense again. Can my party finally get its act together and mount a real defense of our position and values? That is yet to be determined.

  • I am in total agreement and applaud your "pitbull on the pantleg" of journalism veracity

[Read the article: Why the Rove story mattered]

TruthOut's misadventures do nothing to bolster the argument that blog writers (the ones to be trusted, at least) are to be taken seriously and, more importantly, that they are the force to keep MSM journalists honest. Keep up the excellent work.

  • Why won't this man just go away?

[Read the article: Kerry: I won't let them Swift-boat me again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

There are two pop-culture references that succinctly explain my feelings about Senator Kerry:

    1) In Woody Allen’s masterpiece, “Manhattan,” there is the party scene where Isaac asks a group if they have heard that Nazis are marching in New Jersey.

Isaac Davis: Has anybody read that Nazis are gonna march in New Jersey? Y'know, I read this in the newspaper. We should go down there, get some guys together, y'know, get some bricks and baseball bats and really explain things to them.

Party Guest: There is this devastating satirical piece on that on the Op Ed page of the Times, it is devastating.

Isaac Davis: Well, a satirical piece in the Times is one thing, but bricks and baseball bats really gets right to the point.

Party Guest: Oh, satire is always best…

Isaac Davis: No, you see, it’s hard to satirize a guy with shiny boots…

My point is that if you have a point to make about these clowns then make it in no uncertain terms. Don’t leave it to be interpreted or for someone else to draw conclusions or connect the dots, you dolt. Make your point, drive it home, the end.

    2) On “This American Life” a few weeks ago, Ira Glass, the host of the show, compared Kerry to an old girlfriend who he keeps running into around town and muses: “Why don’t you just go away? We took a vote and we don’t like you.”

Yes, perhaps the 2004 election was stolen like 2000. Maybe you were the better man for the job; I certainly voted for you. But you are a loser. And now, you have offered them an opportunity to change the subject. Like when they caught the Big Dog with his pants down; yes, Clinton was the victim of a “vast right-wing conspiracy” but you, Mr. President, loaded the gun with which they shot you. When we run a campaign we have to do so with no gaffes, no blunders; we have to run the perfect campaign. The other side can afford to make the mistakes because that proves their “folksiness.” When we make a mistake it shows our “elitism.” I believe Mr. Kerry was making a joke about the Current Occupant. But he didn’t make it a clear one; he gave them an opportunity to mischaracterize and distort his words. Unless you have considerably more skill, see Mr. Stewart and Mr. Colbert, you can’t satirize them. I don’t hate you yet, Mr. Kerry, but I want you to go away.

  • Doggy-style is not haram

[Read the article: Sex and the married Muslim]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The good doctor's response to the question about being embarrassed by questions, wherein she describes a question from one of her viewers about wanting to be entered from behind, must be a mis-quote. Doin' it doggy-style is not forbidden in Islam (I'm a Muslim and can find the actual saying from the Prophet (PBUH) on this question if necessary). Anal sex is prohibited but that's a different (very exciting) story.

  • This is bad, but...

[Read the article: Obama advisor calls Clinton a "monster," apologizes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When I watched Countdown last night (really this morning on my DVR) KO reported on the Clinton campaign's continued references to the Obama campaign in terms of their enemies on the other side of the aisle (Ken Starr, Karl Rove, GWB) which, in my humble opinion, are just as bad as the word "monster."

And how are the continued Hillary references to "Senator McCain's lifetime of experience, my lifetime of experience, and Senator Obama's speech that he gave in 2002" as she tries to make the case that she and Saint McCain have passed the "commander-in-chief threshold" not getting more attention here? Is she a monster? As compared to Grendel, I guess not. But she is going out of her way to trash a fellow Democrat and she must be stopped before she does it again.
