  • In any event somebody will end up in a wheelchair

[Read the article: "The Sopranos" prediction pool]

AJ attempts to defend Meadow from molestation by Phil's crew. They kill Meadow and shoot AJ, who survives brain-damaged when the crew is driven off by Meadow's boyfriend. Phil learns of the shootings just before Paulie Walnuts takes him out with the help of the Brooklyn turncoat. They take over Brooklyn and NJ. Tony goes to work for Paulie and Carmela resentfully becomes full-time caretaker for AJ. Janice and Paulie get very friendly, leading Tony to back off his plans to get back on top - he knows when he is beaten. Melfi refuses to take Tony's call just before Paulie rings her doorbell. He is not there for therapy. If she is lucky he will just shoot her. Elliott smugly reads the Times account of mob deaths. Last scene is Tony's return home to see Carmela trying futilely to get AJ, in his wheelchair, to show some awareness of the ducks. Tony is carrying a DVD to watch on his oversized TV.

  • Mizbinkley, I couldn't have said it better

"Wow. A dig at your own mother and your father in the same breath as a "me, me, me" attitude. The elder Bushes must be so proud to have raised such a class act."

It really is astonishing, though not surprising, how Shrub's never-ending adolescence reasserts itself in this triple-play of publicly bashing Dad's work, asserting he knows more than his know-it-all Mom, and repeating his I-am-the-Decider meme. This in a family known for its Mafia-like devotion to loyalty. He is some sick fellow.

Do you think Romeny will demand he apologize?

  • MSNBC calls Chelsea Clinton a Prostitute!

[Read the article: Making sense of Super Tuesday]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Anonymust" quoted MSNBC "analyst" as saying -

SHUSTER: But doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?

The cheap vulgarisms that creep into coverage (including Joan's funny but tasteless reference to Obama's media "fluffers") are getting out of hand. If Bill Clinton is looking to play attack dog in a worthy cause, let him channel the ghost of Harry Truman and challenge this punk Shuster over his referring to the Clintons' daughter as someone doing the bidding of pimps! Imagine the media uproar had someone talked about the Bush twins in this way.

  • Memo to Bill: Channel HST and Punch Shuster in the Nose

SHUSTER: But doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?

The cheap vulgarisms that creep into coverage (including Joan Walsh's funny but tasteless reference to Obama's media "fluffers") are getting out of hand. If Bill Clinton is looking to play attack dog in a worthy cause, let him channel the ghost of Harry Truman and challenge this punk Shuster over his referring to the Clintons' daughter as someone doing the bidding of pimps! • R.I.P.

[Read the article: Rep. Tom Lantos is dead at 80]

God Bless Representative Lantos, a survivor, a servant of the people, and a great man.

  • Anderson, Bradley, and Perot

[Read the article: Hillary's time of troubles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Three candidates who would change Washington. Hard to see all these years later how Anderson affected much beyond the attitudes of his supporters, but Bradley and Perot arguably had real effect. Perot may have done us the service of keeping Daddy Bush from a second term, while Bradley's airy appeal to the "post-political" fantasy helped in the neutering of Al Gore.

Now the immensely talented and truly impressive Senator from Illinois comes along playing the same siren song of "changing Washington." If he overtakes the more qualified and, I think, capable candidate, Senator Clinton, he will have my vote and I will enjoy being part of a hopeful campaign. But it seems to me we need a fighter and a deal-maker, more than a self-proclaimed "uniter" in the White House now.

  • Not quite right regarding when President is CiC

[Read the article: The single worst expression in American politics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I applaud your making the point that the President is the commander in chief of the military and not of the nation. But both the plain words of the constitution and the link you cite to support your interpretation of the commander-in-chief language say something a little different from what you say. The reference to our forces' being called into the actual service of the country refers to the state militias, not to the Army and Navy. The Presdient always commands the national military. He commands the state militias only when those militias are called to serve as part of the national military.

That point aside, thank you for reminding us we are not subject to the "commands" of the President.
