  • @ Lotus Feet - fixed your post for you

[Read the article: How Sarah Palin blew it]

You are supposed to engage in critical thought, and question authority when you get an education, even Larry Craig knows dat.

Any rational person who looks at the disasterous history of nationalism and theocracy can question the tenets of the creeping fascism you Republican McCaindroids all cling to with so much trust. Your politics are based on faith, on hopes that next time your rubbish will work, even though it has had horrible, monstrous consequences throughout history, ever since Herbert Hoover dreamed up all of this nonsense at the beautiful whites-only country club.

Today's most innovative and creative and progressive ideas are coming from progressives and liberals, not the dreamy rightists who consider themselves so superior.

You guys are the conformists who are afraid to look at the corrupt urban disasters your politics have wrought. You engage in Orwellian group think, while thinking you are so smart and cosmopolitan.

    ----

What's interesting, Lotus Feet, is that your last paragraph needed no adjustment.

It also might interest you to know that the term "groupthink" was popularized from the failure of GWB's administration to properly acknowledge reality of Saddam having no WMD's.

See, they were all so sure they were right, that they didnt' need to listen to any dirty f'in' liberals who said their intel was wrong. How'd that work out?

  • @ Evelarry - wow

I shouldn't even respond, but when I hear false claims like this it's hard for me to stop myself:

    How Sarah Palin WON big!!!

Sen Biden a 35 yrs senior Senator that taught constitutional law does and not knowing what the VP does.

Um - Biden was right and Palin was wrong.

When you ask people on the streets.

Not if they're independent voters. They all give it to Biden. Go look at some polls if you don't believe me.

she explained why she did not answer Couric questions....

The only question is, if Palin's explanation is acceptable. I don't think it is. If she can't handle questions from the media, how is she going to handle Presidential affairs? Remember a man of McCain's age has a 1 in 3 chance of dying in office - and that isn't even considering McCain's had malignant melanoma ***4 times***.

...no matter what the polls show , McCain/Palin will be the WINNERS..

Don't bet a deregulated stock market on it.

  • @winner1658 - come on.

[Read the article: McCain: The risky choice for president]

Do I even need to point out that:

    - there's no evidence of any kickbacks or corruption w/Obama? That he hasn't ever even been reprimanded by the Senate Ethics committee - unlike McCain?

    - Obama's released his "birth records" - his certificate, unlike McCain. What does McCain have to hide? Well, he was born in the Panama Canal zone. That technically makes him ineligible, doesn't it? Or do such things not matter, if it's McCain who might be affected?

    - Obama supports reasonable regulations on guns. That means he does support some gun rights - just not guns being available anywhere, at any time, without restrictions. That's not hypocrisy, that's recognizing reality.

And as for small businesses - have you ever run a business? Don't you realize that small businesses need to borrow money from time to time - and small businesses give people jobs? What kind of born-entitled, limousine conservative world do YOU live in?

McCain's going down in flames because the voters are paying attention, and they can see McCain policies have nothing to offer.

  • Joan: October surprise is here - Obama's aunt may be here illegally.

[Read the article: Four more days]

I've been waiting for some kind of October Surprise to occur, and it looks like this is it: the AP's just informed the world that Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango has apparently been living in the US illegally for the past four years.

This information arriving this late in the game means the law won't be dealt with before Tuesday, but the implication will be: Obama is a shelterer of illegal immigrants. And beneath that, is the implication that he's a no-good illegal un-American foreigner who can't be trusted.

Now, apparently Obama hasn't had much contact with her. So I don't know what hay McCain's campaign can make of this. And, after seeing how maturely and presidentially Obama handled the many invented controversies thrown at him, I have confidence in Obama's abilities to navigate this.

Still, it's potentially sticky. Deport her, and Obama's labelled cruel; let her stay without fixing the sitch, and Obama's labelled a scofflaw; intervene on her behalf, and he's labelled a string-puller.

I expect Obama to say, "I have faith in the legal system to handle this properly," and then also pay for her lawyer out of his own pocket as a private citizen. Or some similar mature, adult way which will take all the poison out of it.

  • @ Down Mexico Way - things you should know about Rashid and McCain

[Read the article: Where McCain's luck could run out]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Rashid has been associated with McCain since 1993. And in 1998 McCain gave Rashid over $448,000.

Oh, oops! Let's see...$70,000 into $448,000...does that means McCain is over 6 times as terrorist as Obama?

  • @NotOrbitBoy - Put 'em next to McCain's pics

[Read the article: Have yourself an Election Eve cry]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

You know, those pics of McCain and his first wife, who he cheated on and then dumped; then add the pics of McCain with Hagee, Charles Keating, and a pic of the check McCain gave Khalidi for $448,000.

Is that a tear of denial in your eye?
