  • Couldn't it just be age?

[Read the article: GQ to tennis studs: Stay single!]

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but it seems like Tennis players have a very short shelf life (even for athletes).

Couldn't it just be that by the time players get married they're already past their prime athletically? That would explain why the same correlation doesn't seem to hold true for Golfers for example (Tiger, Nicklaus, et. al. did or are doing just fine after the "burden" of marriage).

    Another correlation vs causation problem?

  • Base 9

With apologies to junior413 if I'm explaining incorrectly, I think he's saying that 486 base 10 would be written as 600 in base 9:

    600 base 9 (ie 6 * 9^2 + 0 * 9^1 + 0 * 9^0) = 486 base 10 (ie 4 * 10^2 + 8 * 10^1 + 6 * 10^0)

    So 500 base 9 would be 5 * 81, or 405 base 10. It's a pretty nerdy thing.

Great to have you back writing, and I love the headline of that section btw; brilliant.

King makes a good point about the volume of regular season games now available.

Thanks to the Internet and ESPN/FSN/Etc. sports coverage is so much more prevalent than it used to be that it's hard to imagine any kid not getting their fill, missed playoff games or not.

Both MLB and the NBA have had the majority of their regular season games starting at 7pm or later for quite a while now, and it doesn't seem to have caused any harm. Sports are as popular now as they've ever been.

Oh, and Milwaukee plays in the Eastern Conference, so it'd be tough for them to fight NOLA for that last playoff spot...
