  • All or Nothing Thinking

[Read the article: Rev. Jeremiah Wright isn't the problem]

Gary, while knee jerk patriotism is wrong, so is knee jerk anti-Americanism. Americans are tired of extremes in politics which is why we want a moderate like Mccain. Like it or not, the Dems (NOT Hillary only) have just destroyed the party. It is in shambles. Mccain represents change from Bush politics. Many Democrats will crossover for the first time to vote for a Republican. Wright is a problem, nobody told Obama to join that congregation. The USA will be worse under an Obama rule than under Bush. Obama will rule like another Mugabe and the his win would be revolutionary and be the beginning of the end of the United States. How do you like that for Wrightian hyperbole?

  • Mysogny is Rampant (among women)

[Read the article: Hey, Obama boys: Back off already!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am a male Hillary supporter, albeit gay, who is amazed that women have so much self-hatred and hatred for other women. Politics is supposed to be about self empowerment. This is why men vote for men and blacks vote for blacks i.e. Somewhere along the line women don't seem to get it. It is apparent that there is much misogyny among men and in the black community but it is now apparent among women themselves. I voted for Hillary because I think she would be the best candidate, not because of her gender or to make any other statement. Obama was brought forth by establishment democrats to push the Clinton's out of politics. I believe that Obama is so ineffectual that I will vote for McCain in November if he is the nominee. I consider myself fair and fair to women, but in this election cycle I could not help but wonder if women are none too bright and deserve to lose their place at the table.

  • It's Okay to Vote White

[Read the article: How much will white racism hurt Obama?]

I think we need to get over this whole race preference issue. There is nothing wrong with making race a criteria for selecting a candidate. It is certainly one reasonable criteria and there is a rational basis for it. Just as 92%+ African-Americans believe a Black candidate would be best for them, White Americans should be free to vote for a White candidate. One argument for a White president is that the United States is 66% Caucasian and only 12% black and a black candidate does not represent, racially, the majority of the US populous. We cheered when Nelson Mandela and the fall of White South Africa, so why shouldn't the USA have a White president? Latino and Asian voters seem prefer Clinton/McCain over Obama. Are they racist? Probably. If racism is simply the act of recognizing race and making decisions based on that, then society needs to accept it. White obama supporters are probably the racist of all...Accepting guilt for past wrongs and believing they can make up for it by voting for a half-Black president to assuage their own racist and hateful thoughts about African-Americans. Regardless of how the feelings are manifest everyone uses racial criteria in their lives. Get over it!

I don't have to cite anything

#1. This is an op area, not a research paper or Wikipedia.

#2. My comments were obviously my own and not anyone else's.

#3. The basic US demographics, you could look up yourself.

You apparently need to re-learn what citations are for.

You apparently have a problem with truth and at the same time you illustrated my point exactly....I am not a psychoanalyst but I find it interesting that my comment would elicit the word "nigger" from you. While you will probably defend yourself by saying you were making a point, the fact is you really were just looking for an excuse to unload your actual racism. My Mugabe statement in March was obvious hyperbole, but I would never use a word like "nigger" and go out of my way to offend anyone. As far as the racism continuum, my racism would be very low on the scale. My world view comes from living around the world and understanding human nature and realities. But to pretend that race and racism does not exist is naive and probably worthy of you.

  • Hillary's Female Supporters are Voting McCain

[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am friends with many Clinton supporters and their threat to vote McCain is NOT a hollow one. It is not so much they are angry that Hillary wasn't selected, but actually believe that McCain is the next best choice because of his experience, moderation, and bipartisan approach. My mother and most of her army of other older female Democratic friends have rectified voting McCain for some time. It is not a threat, per se, they are justing voting for what they see to be the next best candidate.

Your rant about the Supreme Court and delusions about Roe being overturned is sheer paranoia and fiction. McCain has always worked with Democrats and will select moderate judges. The last thing we need is your B.S. and fear mongering. The fact remains that many Democrats will sleep better at night with McCain. McCain is a friend to Democrats and is why Kerry wanted him as VEEP in 2004.

How can you blame McCain for a random question being thrown at him by a member of the public? I heard worse in the MSM, and they should know better. I frankly don't understand it but millions of people hate Hillary and have misogynistic thoughts. If you want to smear McCain, you will have to do better than that!

The question should be how much is Obama paying you....or are you voting purely on complexion?

If you want truth, your candidate is a "Community Organizer" with no little political experience and sleazy connections.

I'm not working for McCain. I am a Democrat who want to prevent an Obama disaster.
