  • Honestly, I think the author is full of sh*t.

I don't know how many people have ever flown overseas, but every airline will double check the status of your passport before boarding. This is, the people at the counter would have warned the Author about the fact that he couldn't get into Britain due to the expiration date of his passport.

As a foreigner living in this country, it is "oh so much fun" to be subjected to any US port of entry, where I have the honor of having my mug shot and finger prints taken, nothing says "welcome home" after a 12hr flight than be treated like some sort of criminal. My wife, a US citizen, has experienced nothing of the short going the opposite way into Europe. But honestly, I could only dream of EU authorities enforcing the same standards on American citizens as the US uses for foreigners entering its borders.

One thing I am fairly familiar with is the fact that one has to try really hard in order to be thrown in jail in the EU, certainly Mr. Kurth must be quite the class act if he pushed things up to that limit.

  • Which state are you from RealName?

The state with the highest overall number of recruits in the armed forces is Texas. Depending on which branch of the armed forces we are talking about, California and Texas oscillate when it comes to which state provides more personnel. Both states have republican governors by the way.

As per Lieberman, he lost the primaries of his party. He was elected mostly by Republicans, and he is obviously showing where his allegiances reside. Nothing wrong with that, he won fair and square, that doesn't mean I have to like or accept his insincere approach to politics. Good for him, bad for us.

Liebereman has been a liability from day one, he was a key factor in the defeat of Gore, he was supporting Bush from day one so his whole "9/11 changed everything" is just nonsense. And what we really don't need right now is to have yet another chicken hawk who served a total of 0 days in the armed forces advocating the start of yet another war of aggression. One can not put the lives of soldiers and untold innocent civilians on the line based on flimsy evidence at best.

The whole cabal -- Bush, Cheney, Rice, Liberman, et al -- seem to posses a reverse Midas touch of sorts, i.e. everything they touch turns to shit. It is almost as if it would be better if they simply collected their paychecks and stayed home doing nothing, and at this point that would be something I would be willing to sponsor: Just stay home for the next 18 months, take an extended vacation, just stay away and leave us alone.

Never in the history of this country we have witnessed such a synergy between sheer stupidity, incompetence, corruption, and rotten humanity at the helm of our government. I guess now we can consider the 90s as our Pax Americana, which means we are going to be circling the drain soon, god help us all. At least Nero was good with the harp, I shudder to think what Lieberman may sound like trying to sing...

Just what we need the advice of yet another armchair quarterback. You are right, we need to increase our ground troops in order to defeat a concept. Never mind that we are waging a war on "terror" how do you win a war on a war, there is no state, no objective, no party to negotiate a surrender, just a word/concept. What's next the war on "rundeness" or the war on "laziness"?

The problem is not the number of ground troops or lack there of, the problem is the insane politics of smoke and mirror that this administration has implemented. Idiots like you who still find a way to blame Clinton 7+ years after he left office only compound the problem further.

It will be a sad day when future generations read about a goat f***er who bankrupted this country from a cave and with a $100K investment. But then again, the point was never to win wars but just to fight them... there is no profit on peace.

  • I guess King Bush did not consider death sentences to be "hars" punishments

George Bush the Second said this as TX governor:

"I don’t believe my role is to replace the verdict of a jury with my own, unless there are new facts or evidence of which a jury was unaware, or evidence that the trial was somehow unfair."

Happy 4th of July every one! It is fascinating to see the death of a democracy happening on the same week its birth is celebrated.
