Can I just say something to the beady-eyed Obama worshippers?
[Read the article: Fresh blood for the vampire]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You're the reason the Obama campaign is going to hell. No one saw that coming? I mean, come ON. The Obama campaign admitted that they knew that the McCain campaign would get a temporary boost from the VP choice, but they had no STRATEGY in place to combat that?! What have they been doing since Palin rocketed into the headlines? You can almost see the pathetic scrambling that took place in the totally unprepared Obama camp.
It's happening again. Obamaians are RESPONDING pathetically to Palin shocks. There's no OFFENSE. Yes, the media has uncovered juicy tid-bits about Palin with their help. But that's it? Your just going to keep throwing crap at her and hope it wears her down? The Obama campaign has no punch, no pizazz, no MESSAGE left in this pandemonium. Where is the message of HOPE? Where is the message of Change We Can Believe In? All I'm hearing is McCain, the Original Maverick and Palin, the pit bull in lipstick.
Bush's approval ratings are at an all time low, Republicans have been suffering from scandals in major states, our economy is staggering, there is a health-care crisis, and McCain and Obama are neck and neck in the polls? Obama should write a book on How To Lose A Campaign That Was Already In The Bag.
Good luck to the Dems if that's all the fight they have in them.

Doggone it!
[Read the article: Sarah Palin exceeds expectations -- and still loses]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Does the McCain camp think we're all barefoot farmers? Sarah Palin's "darnit"s and "doggone it"s and "Joe six-pack"s were downright offensive. Even people who do live in rural communities don't speak like that. In contrast, Biden's attempts at speaking to the middle class were genuine and relatable, and he didn't treat the audience like uneducated sharecroppers.
When (can I call you Sarah?) Sarah was asked about the increasing authority of the Vice President a la Dick Cheney, she rattled off complete gibberish about how she was THANKFUL TO THE CONSTITUTION for the position of the Vice President, and she totally agreed with Dick Cheney on whatever it was that Gwen Ifill was asking her. When Biden responded to the question, not only by clarifying to the audience members what Gwen I. was referring to, (Cheney's philosophy about the VP position being a legislative as well as an executive position), but also by delivering one of the best lines of the night (Dick Cheney is one of the most dangerous vice-presidents we've ever had), I thought, this debate is OVER, and it's insanely clear who won.

WHAT?
[Read the article: Foley's successor has scandal of his own]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]" Senior Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives, including Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), the chair of the Democratic Caucus, have been working with Mahoney to keep the matter from hurting his re-election campaign, Mahoney staffers said."
You mean to tell me, that Dems know what scum this guy is, but they are still working with him to get him re-elected, simply because he is a Democrat? They can't find someone better than this guy for that seat? That's disgusting.

Pardons
[Read the article: Who will Bush pardon next?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm here to rail about this sorry and just plain wrong practice of pardoning CRIMINALS by any administration. What is this? Some sort of free-for-all? Those people were convicted of crimes by juries of their peers- who is Bush or any president to give them a get-out-of-jail free card?
The Wires story reads, "Bush has been stingy about issuing pardons." As well he should be! That would be the one thing he's done that I would applaud him for! Stop this practice of presidents pardoning criminals who have been rightfully convicted. Our appeals courts and parole laws exist for a reason- use them to shorten your prison sentence, not some lame-duck president. If you do the crime, you should serve the damn time.
