It's easy to campaign for Russ
[Read the article: Feingold drops out of the "Me Primary"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]With Russ's withdrawal, we are missing out on a winner.
I'm a resident of Wisconsin and have twice campaigned door to door for Feingold as U.S. Senator. I have also campaigned door to door for numerous other candidates (including Gore, Kerry) here in Wisconsin. Without hesitation I can say that Russ is the easiest candidate I have ever campaigned for. People love Russ no matter what neighborhood they live in.

Witz up with Andy Young?
[Read the article: Wolfowitz won't resign? Good]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A few nights ago I saw Andy Young apologizing for Wolfie on The News Hour. Is Wolfowitz truly an advocate for those suffering from post-colonial-syndrome?

Fear Based Campaigns
[Read the article: Nixon knows best]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Nixon and Bush campaigns were based on heavy fear mongering that nullified their positive programs. Nixon exploited fear of blacks and the youth counterculture under the rubric “Crime In The Streets”. Bush exploited and continues to exploit fear of 911 terrorists under the rubric “Global War On Terror”.
Nixon taught Bush (actually Cheney and Rove). In both cases, our country has become a darker place to live.

Land of the free, home of the brave.
[Read the article: A tragic legacy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Beyond Glen's discussion of a dualistic view of the world, I find his dissertaion on risk and freedom most compelling
Consider the words ending our national anthem, ".....land of the free, home of the brave." These are two interconnected ideas. Only the brave accept the risk of offering dignity to all, even to their enemy, and only the brave are therefore truly free.

Bush Tortures Efficiently / Hitler Exterminated Efficiently
[Read the article: The brutal, uncivilized Libyans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The corpus handling efficiency of the Bush Administration and it's CIA colluders described in Mayer's article reminds us of the technical efficiency the Nazis designed into their extermination facilities. However, Nazis naively kept assiduous records.
But…………, is there, perhaps, a paper trail kept by posterior covering US government bureaucrats somewhere? I hope congress is looking. Are you listening Senator Feingold?

Now: War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
The Future: Winston could not definitely remember a time when his country had not been at war.

The Fish Rots From The Head.
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Everyone keeps talking about what should be done to the players. I say first things first. Get rid of Bud Selig. He is a bumbling fool like Bush is a bumbling fool. Just as Bush needs to be impeached to regain the integrity of the Country, to save the game, Selig needs to be thrown out of the game. Players aren’t going to truly abide by the rulings of someone who turned away from the obvious use of steroids for the sake of profits. Selig is essentially asking us to trust him. How can we trust this jerk?
Bud was irresponsible as head of the Brewers and he has only gotten worse as commissioner.

What about the war on terrorists?
[Read the article: What the Huck?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"As long as the race stays friendly, few Republicans see much harm in Huckabee's sticking it out a bit longer."
Mitt Romney's statement to CPAC that he dropped out because the US is "...In a time of war..." implied that sticking it out a bit longer in the race hampers the "War on Terror" and this country's safety.
Why don't many Republicans other than the few referred to above see harm in Huckabee hampering "the war effort" by staying in the race?
Of course Mitt is simply full of it. He was instructed by the Republican establishment to make his absurd "time of war" statement as the initial beating of the war drum, the means by which the Republicans once again plan to win the presidency. Expect a lot more fear mongering to come.

Hillary blends Wallace with Nader to become Rove.

He's an African/European American
[Read the article: Racism on the trail]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]To say that Obama is an African American either denies his European Roots or erroneously suggests that "American equals European".
Obama is biracial. The media has to change its language for the reality of Obama to be appreciated.

Mr. Obama is not African American
[Read the article: The mix master]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Saying that Mr. Obama is "African American" either ignores his European roots or incorrectly presumes that "American" equals European. It may be clumsy to say but Mr. Obama is either an African-European American or a European-African American.
A comes before E......... African-European American wins.
