Pawlenty

Minnesotans with any sense pray that Pawlenty will be selected as McCain's running mate. We're desperate to be ride of him!

Glenn Greenwald

Glenn is the most perceptive and articulate observer of our "democracy" that we have at the moment. His insight that we are struggling against a power elite, who have no regard for the rule of law, is obvious, but no one expresses it quite as well. Nothing will change unless we all chip away at the edifice and install true democrats in office. We are perilously close to slipping from oligarchy into fascism. Cheers, Glenn! Keep the faith!

The Debate

I listened to the debate on Democracy Now and was disappointed that Glenn got his head handed to him. Interesting to hear the Obama-apologist and how moderate these guys have become--their true colors, perhaps. I'm sure we can expect a nuanced campaign from Obama and a presidency of the same texture. It's a disappointment, of course, to know that Bush and Co. will not be punished for their grave sins, but it's not in the cards. Time to move on.

As usual...

Glenn nails it succinctly. Is the FBI the only part of government which is doing its job?

Wow, Glenn...

Keep on keeping on. This is amazing reporting.

No more vacations...

I missed your column and insights into what is really going on!

Wow!

Most very interesting analysis of Wallace, his work, and his demise. The relationship between being authentic and one's work was not explored, which was my only disappointment. My own opinion is that the more we put ourselves out there in an inauthentic manner as writers, the more likely we are to do ourselves in, unless we have the ego of Norman Mailer. It may be that putting ourselves out there insures that we become inauthentic in this plastic world of ideas we inhabit. Chisa?

Thanks!

This carefully written article answered lots of questions. Very much appreciated.

Odd

I heartily agree with Glenn's comments, but did want him to answer the question that permeates his article: why do our political leaders uncritically support Israel? I wonder if even Glenn dares investigate this in detail.
