People who complain about blogs being mean don't blog

[Read more letters about this article: Here]across a wide spectrum of blogs. I frequent classical music blogs. An outsider unfamiliar with the classical music world might think that these would be sort of namby-pamby milquetoast type of chats. Opinions are as strongly held in the classical music field as they are in politics, the classical music fans are by and large fairly well educated and articulate so the insults are fairly fine tuned, and the result is that even classical music blogs blowup with regularity.
I look at blogging as the new form of debating society or coffee klatching. I don't go to blogs for vanilla-politically correct opinions, I want real information and real opinions, even if I do not like or agree with everything laid out before me. It is kind of like going to an art museum, one can not expect to like or even understand everything one sees, however that does not stop one from attending the museum.
The internet blogs are a newer form of communication, and of course there are problems. Just as my parents learned never to say something on their party-line telephone that they did not want repeated in church, the current generation has to learn to live with what they post on the internet. There will always be libelers and slanderers regardless of the media. I say figure out the safeguards you need and/or want and have fun.

Odd how they liked 'rule of law' when they were getting the Supreme Court to pick the president. Their moral compass has an odd afinity to swinging to whatever cause is most magnetic as opposed to true north.

I've always thought that Comey was Lichtblau and Risen's source, which means that the NYT had the info before September 2004, and the White House censored it/convinced them not to publish until the NYT released part of the info Dec. 17th 2005. Maybe one of the other 2 DoJ people present were Lichtblau and Risen's source, but I'd guess that Comey knew about the leak.
Why would Comey not come forward earlier? He is a Republican, who wanted a federal judgeship. I imagine that one has to do a bit of soul searching, and then pragmatic job searching if one is going to out a secret program with consitutional and impeachment ramifications. While I am not a lawyer I think he could have gotten entangled on the macro level with treason charges, and attorney-client privilege violations on the micro level.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]had perjured himself - it was never about the bj, it was all about the lying. Now we hear about how unimportant lying is, leading me to the conclusion that the Clinton's underlying crime was consensual sex after all.
The campaign to 'free Libby' would be a joke if outting a CIA agent weren't so serious.

Maybe leave out the beer - it was the common touch that helped elect Bush - and may or may not be useful in this election.
O/T One wonders how sexual mirroring plays out with a woman on the scene. If I were HRC, I'd be going, not for a post modern Margaret Thatcher image, but maybe for a female Solomon image (obviously I do not win public offices, so pay no attention).
Waay off topic, but the politics of not only sex but race(ism) will be in play in the next 15 months. It will be interesting to see how Republicans deal with the stereotype of the the black (inherently sexy) tough guy and see them try to flip the image on Obama. In my opinion the John Edwards hair stuff was just a warm up for their real mud.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]in my opinion. My father got combat pay for combat, and less pay for his down time in Korea. If the National Guard could track the wereabouts of troops without the aid of transistors never mind semi conductors almost sixty years ago, couldn't tracking soldiers' locations be done today?
Another thing. Even Bush has stopped asking for 'victory', now the word is 'sucess'. Kagan needs to update his vocab and his viewpoint of the president's goals.
