When George W. Bush was first elected, 75% of Americans polled believed that balancing the budget was more important than cutting taxes. Three quarters of the country was not on board with the Bush tax cut agenda.
It. Did. Not. Matter.
Now look.
Food for thought.
Yeah, okay, you're right.
Maybe these two great minds could also apply themselves to making communications via Blackberry secure. Then they could efficiently exchange their cool ideas and excellent thinking in private over long distances.
Just saying. My tubez is leaky wtf????
As a socialist libertarian, I am feeling very marginalized right now.
Your column is called "How the World Works" and all you just did is ask questions.
What's left to fix? You must be trippin.
So -- let me ask you -- if prices are dropping, then it's okay if Obama deficit spends -- no? I mean, real inflationary print-some-money-now deficit spending? Because if it is okay, one thing that he could maybe fix is the District of Columbia school system. You could spend money on that thing for a long time and not run out of stuff to fix. For that matter, suppose we just fully fund every school system in every urban center in the United States? Would that get some people working, maybe?
How about, let's build and staff emergency rooms and primary care clinics based on where the population is. Would that create some wealth? How about, let's rehab a bunch of decrepit old substandard housing? Could that improve the unemployment rate and stimulate some consumer spending?
Just trying to think creatively here.
Okay, this is just wrong.
Really, Joe Lieberman didn't do anything to the Senate. And the Republican Senators aren't even being asked what they think about this. This whole thing is about whether it was wrong for Joe to split out of the Democratic party and run against their nominee for Senate after he lost the Democratic primary. The Senate as an institution is not really what that is about. And Barack (besides still being a Senator still for now, for whatever that is worth) is a Democrat -- sort of the top dog Democrat right now.
The two party system, I have to say, is pretty weird in its own right. It is kind of an ad hoc bizzaro institution. It is not our friend in the same way the Constitution is our friend. So, I have to say, I think this whole line of argument about separation of powers is out of place in this intra-party controversy. It would make more sense in theory at least to say, "Hey, y'all, stop messing up our Constitutional system with your so-called parties." But that is kind of unrealistic, I realize.
I guess they must of sent a whole team of Black Pamfer commandoes up to Dixville Notch, NH, to intimertolate all them hepless white folk up there, cause they apparently all voted like 17 to 4 for Barack. LOL.
Black Panthers. LOL. You gonna have a hard time explaining North Dakota though.

I knew Karl Marx.
Karl Marx was a friend of mine.
Barack Obama is no Karl Marx.
But -- and pay attention now --
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is really Maynard G. Krebs (the G. stands for Walter).

I think it's time for the media to get past focusing on the media focus on the media focus on Sarah Palin's clothes, and get back to focusing on Sarah Palin's clothes.
Did that make sense?
