Their lust for power and money at the expense of liberty and democracy is amply documented by The Patriot Act, FISA, and the military commissions act. Their subversion of the constitution is well documented also byt their willingness to commit perjury and obstruction of justice. This nation is in grave danger from these Republicans and Obama's decision to discard the rule of law by failing to hold accountable those who have lied, tortured and murdered is a death knell for The United States of America. This nation will never be destroyed from without. Our real enemies are here. They sit in our government. They have (R) next to their names. They are the Republican party.

Would Sarah Palin have been picked by Bill Kristol for the Vice Presidency of the United States of America if she looked like Helen Thomas?

The Republican party is not interested in experience, knowledge, character, or ability. They look for spokesmodels to sell their corporate agenda. Sarah fits the bill. Besides, if this photo is sexist, and Sarah herself signed off on it, then does that not make her sexist?

Face it, if the GOP doesn't care about 45,000 Americans dying every year from lack of healh insurance, they don't care about a terrorist attack. They are physically employed by their corporate patrons. They are practically on their payroll records. To keep the money flowing into Afganistan and the drugs flowing out, they will lie, cheat, steal, kill, rape, maim, and commit treason. Seeing that there is no downside for them, it really makes sense. They are not bound by law. They are not bound by ethics. They are free of constraints to do what they please. The only way to end both these wars is to reinstate the draft with NO EXEMPTIONS. Seeing that that will never happen, neither will an end to these wars. I fully expect Obama to commit every last soldier, ready or not, healthy or not, to Afganistan. It's not so much a war strategy as a campaing strategy. I'll bet when they signed up, most of these poor suckers didn't expect to die for a political campaign. Ah, well, such is life.

I don't see why Obama is letting them be tried at all. In his capacity as Unitary Executive, he can simply declare them 'enemy combatants' and have them executed in secret. That this would give terrorists even more reason to hate and attack the US is just a bonus. Not only would it prolong the War For Profit, it would get Obama a second term. Nothing is as important as a second term to Obama. Not even the lives of US soldiers sent to Afganistan. Obama is a coward in so many ways it hurts my head just to try and count them.
