Bill Clinton

Face it, much of the problem was started when Bill Clinton signed the FCC bill and the GLB act. Had those two pieces of legislation not been enacted, we would have a much more diverse media as well as protections from Wall St. abuse. Yet watch tonight as Jon Stewart will literaly crawl under his desk to please the man. This country is over. Both parties are employed by the same corporations and both have but one objective: enrich the rich and impoverish the rest of us. Until the politicians raking in millions from corporate coffers enact laws that will not allow them to rake in millions from corporate coffers, nothing will change. And that is like putting a 5 year old in charge of an ice cream shop and asking him not to eat the inventory. It ain't gonna happen. Better get in line now at the soup kitchen. It's only gonna get longer.

Change

I'm ready to elect a Republican House and Senate and let them have a go at impeachment. You know they will if they get a chance and if Obama thinks he can just waltz around taking liberals for granted, then let's give him a dose of reality. I, for one, seriously feel that he has participated in war crimes and actually should be impeached but that is beside the point. The point is that we liberals have been shat upon for 30 years and we're a little tired of it. Let's let the VI Republican attack dogs tear into this pompous jackass of a president and see how he likes it. I'd love to primary the egotistical SOB in 2012 just to show him that we mean business. Ah, well, one can dream, can't one?

Funding

Clair is evidently being herself funded by the criminal and corrupt contractors. Does that mean that she gets defunded too?

I mean these Dems are seriously cracked if they think they can betray us and we won't notice. What will it take to get campaign finance reform? Riots? Burning buildings? Screaming at them? What????

I have had enough with Bush Lite too. Obama is going to get caught up in the war crimes investigation unless he detaches himself pretty soon from the CIA. His detestable position on the release of torture information from the British has put him right in the ballpark with Cheney and W. I guess Rahm has told him he's Superman and he believes it. He's not. Not by a long shot. Not even close. Barak, soon you'll be facing two enemies: Republicans and Progressives. You feel lucky?

They no longer work for the people

Congress and the president have been purchased lock, stock, and barrel by the multi-national corporations. They do not work for the people, they work for the corporations. If they are not reelected, the person that is elected will work for the corporations also. The country is headed into a dark place. I can only hope I'm dead before that happens.

Torture

I'm curious, Garry, would you give free health care to a U.S. prisoner that had been tortured? I didn't think so. Go away. We know who's side you are on.

That's All Folks

A nation that cannot and will not distinguish truth from lies is in it's death throes. This is just such a nation. I am heart broken for the children that will have to dig through the choking ashes of the United States of America for their survival.

I fear that

I fear that we have just realized our tragic error. We have traded one set of jackles feeding off the dying body of this country for another. The insurance companies will win because the Democrats want them to win. The wars will continue because the Democrats want them to contine. It's time for a new progressive party that can represent the people once again. At the rate the political class in this country is impoverishing us, we will have no political power if we do not act soon. It's time to start talking about a 2012 challenger to Obama. I'm afraid he's not the person we hoped he would be. He's not bad, he just obviously thinks that campaign promises are made to be broken. He has not responded to our concerns. It looks like he never will. This just really has to be done.

She won't pay

And they won't persue. The state of law in this nation is a joke. It all comes down to who has the money to bribe with. What a sick and disgusting country.

Not Cheney?

But Garrison, I myself read on this very site that you are a great admirer of Mr. Cheney's torture techniques. I would think you to be demented to endorse the anti-torture(at least in public) Obama over the tried and true dynamic inspirational leadership of Dick Bruce Cheney. You cannot seriously be saying that tying a person into a fetal position until they die is a bad thing can you? Oh, heavens, say it ain't so.

Obama removed all doubt

Obama is much worse than Bush ever was. I say this because when Bush was president, we had hope that one day, a Democrat would be elected and the unlawful behavior would stop. Now that Obama has been elected, we have no more hope. He had codified the worse abuses of Bush and has expressed open disdain for his own supporters. So now we know. We know that no matter who is elected to any office in this country, the corruption, the torture, the wars, the discrimination, the looting, the terror will continue unabated. This country is in it's death throes. Doctor Obama has just prescribed sugar pills. So sad.

Accountability

This country will go Mad Max before one person is held accountable for anything. Obama is a coward, Geitner is a criminal, and our entire congress is filled with millionaires who could not care less about the rest of us. This country is over just as surely as the USSR was. We just don't know it yet.
